Not Sure, But Minnesota May Have Topped Us Now that the end of winter is in sight, we can have a little fun. Inspired by a similar contest in Scotland that went viral, the Michigan Department of Transportation set up a little contest for the kids back in January, where children were encouraged to submit names for the individual snow plows. Encouraged by media types like Ch. 8's Ellen Bacca, in the first two days, they were overwhelmed with some 6,000 entries. Some of the names submitted by Michiganders included, "Plowy McPlow Face," "Sir Salt a Lot" and "Little Snow Peep."

Help MNDOT Name a Snowplow- Voting Now Open So, this has been going on for a minute.  Name a snow plow!  MNDOT had offered up this contest a few weeks ago.  They received over 24,000 name ideas.  Holy buckets!  They went through those names and picked out the top 50.  I wonder who was tasked with that job.  UGH!  How do you choose?  I'm sure there were some that were automatically bounced.  But with that many, that would be difficult to whittle it down to just 50 finalists.
