JTA — Israeli actress Shira Haas, best known internationally for her star turn in Netflix’s “Unorthodox,” will portray Israel’s only female prime minister, Golda Meir, in an upcoming TV series.
“Lioness,” produced by MGM/UA Television and not yet sold to a TV service or channel, is based on the book of the same name by Francine Klagsbrun, Deadline reported Monday. Barbra Streisand will serve as a producer, her first foray into scripted TV work.
According to Deadline, the series will follow Meir from “her birth in Kiev to her American upbringing in Milwaukee, her role in the formation of Israel and her rise to become the new nation’s first and only female prime minister.”

Deadline reported.
Mollaei fled to Germany after exposing that Iranian authorities instructed him to intentionally lose the semi-final of the 2019 World Judo Championships in Tokyo to avoid potentially competing against Muki in the finals. Two months later, the International Judo Federation banned the Iran Judo Federation from all activities held by the international organization until it had lifted its ban on Iranian athletes competing against Israelis. But on Monday, that ban was lifted by a court of arbitration.
