A hearing was set today for a judge to hear from doctors who have been treating Ian Howard, who is accused in connection with the 2017 slaying of Lafayette Police Cpl. Michael Middlebrook.

During a 2021 hearing that resulted in his being found incompetent, doctors testified Ian Howard wasn't well enough to help his lawyers in his defense - but that he could be, with treatment.
