A Louisville man is behind bars after police said he tried to break into a music store a second time after previously stealing more than $18,000 in property, all while using stolen Amazon delivery vans.Michael Ostrander, 41, was arrested Wednesday on charges of burglary, attempted burglary, criminal mischief and fleeing from police, according to an arrest report.Investigators said Ostrander is the suspect behind two burglaries at Family Music Shop on 3rd Street Road.According to the arrest report, the business was burglarized during the early morning on Nov. 19. Louisville Metro police said the music store was broken into and more than $18,000 in property was taken.Investigators said the window and door of the business were damaged during the burglary, causing more than $1,000 in damages.Security footage showed an Amazon delivery van pulling up to the door and two people making their way into the business, according to the arrest report.Investigators spoke with Amazon representatives and the contractor who owns the vans, both of which confirmed the van spotted in the security footage was stolen. The van was valued at more than $10,000.According to investigators, the van was also equipped with a camera that faces the driver, which recorded the suspect with tattoos on his right hand. Officials said that tattoo matches one Ostrander has, the arrest report describes.Police said Ostrander wasn t done with the business yet.According to the police report, Ostrander returned to the music store on Dec. 4 to once again burglarize the business. He returned in a different stolen Amazon van, but this time had his mask off his face and was recorded from the van, police said.Ostrander and another unidentified individual made their way to the store again to try to break in, but were unsuccessful the second time around, police said.Investigators said the suspects were still able to cause $1,000 in damage during the attempted burglary.According to the arrest slip, an LMPD officer spotted the stolen van as it was leaving the business, and the suspects fled at a high rate of speed.Police said before the suspects abandoned the van, they tried to park it under an overhang at Beth Haven Christian School, causing the van to pull off the support beams because it was too tall. The suspects caused more than $1,000 in damage to the overhang and $8,000 in damage to the van, according to the LMPD.Then on Monday, investigators said Ostrander was spotted at his mother s home, where they made contact with him while he was in his truck. According to police, Ostrander initially complied with the officers as they told him to remove the keys from the ignition, but then he started the truck back up as they moved to the driver s side and he fled.Police said Ostrander drove through several yards at a high rate of speed to get away from the officers. According to court documents, he is on parole from Hardin County.Investigators said they were able to once again locate Ostrander on Wednesday. He had painted the truck a different color sometime between Monday and Wednesday to avoid being noticed, police said.Police said they also found a small bag containing suspected meth with Ostrander when he was taken into custody.Ostrander was transported to Louisville Metro Corrections. His mugshot has been requested, but was not immediately available.

Louisville man accused of burglarizing local music store in stolen Amazon delivery vans

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) Police say a man who burglarized a local music store had a preference for a certain type of getaway vehicle:  stolen Amazon delivery vans.
According to an arrest report, someone broke into the Family Music Shop on 3rd Street Road Nov. 19. Police say two people can be seen breaking into the store and taking more than $18,000 worth of merchandise.
That property was then loaded onto an Amazon delivery van, according to police.
Police say when they contacted Amazon, as well as the contractor that owns the vans, they learned that the van in question had been stolen and was not supposed to be on the road.
