Sounds logical to me, but if you didn’t know what’s in it, why did you shoot it down? Had you taken the time to Google what defines one’s Jewish lineage, it would have informed you that Judaism is passed through the mother-to-child process. Unless his mother and her mother before her were Jewish, Mahrer definitely is not.
