Knowing that today is scheduled to be the Franchise/Transition Tag deadline, I can’t get this out of my head:
You’re welcome.
•   No tag necessary for QB Dak Prescott, who was paid handsomely by the Cowboys on Monday night. It includes gobs of guaranteed money and could be worth north of $160 million when all is said and done. My mind went in so many places upon hearing the news. I thought about how it took Prescott off the market for a QB-starved franchise like the Bears. But it also took Dallas out of the Russell Wilson sweepstakes. So … that’s a net win, right? Then I had to stop myself when I started thinking about what I would do if $160 million was placed at my doorstep because I was that good at my gig. Mentally, I spent that money on all the Air Jordans I took the “L” on via the SNKRS app. In a dream, I’d start with a pair of Concords, the Pantone 11s, Taxi 12s, “University Blue” AJ1s, and work from there. ....

The "Hottest Offense in the League" Calls Soldier Field Home (And Other Bears Bullets)

It’s the last Monday of 2020. Positive vibes are the only thing I’m asking for today. That means I’m not diving too deep into Mitchell Trubisky’s inexcusable red-zone interception. Or that overthrow of Cole Kmet down the sideline that should’ve been an easy touchdown. I won’t even dwell on how the Bears defense was credited with only one sack and three quarterback hits on Mike Glennon.
I’m all about positive energy to start today, so let’s get after it.
•   “
People never get the flowers while they can still smell ‘em” is one of my favorite Kanye West one-liners ever. And with that on my mind, I’d like to give the Bears offense its flowers: ....

Raiders vs. Dolphins score: Ryan Fitzpatrick takes over for ineffective Tua, stuns Vegas with comeback victory

The Raiders are out of the playoff picture, and Miami is very much alive

The Las Vegas Raiders struck first on Saturday night, and they held a lead with under a minute to play against the Miami Dolphins. But they could not hold on to save their playoff lives, opting to run down the clock rather than score a touchdown late in the fourth quarter and watching as Ryan Fitzpatrick who was replacing a benched Tua Tagovailoa led Miami all the way down the field for a game-winning field goal. Despite herculean efforts from star tight end Darren Waller and some big downfield throws from Derek Carr, the Raiders fell 26-25 in prime time, officially missing out on the 2020 playoffs. The Dolphins, meanwhile, remain alive in the AFC Wild-Card picture after a big night for their defense and clutch backup (and/or future starting) QB in Fitzpatrick. ....

Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins Beat Cam Newton, Patriots to Eliminate NE from Playoffs

The Miami Dolphins playoff push got a big boost Sunday thanks to their 22-12
victory over the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium.
Coming off a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week, the Dolphins found themselves tied in the standings with the Baltimore Ravens. They had the tiebreaker for the final playoff spot in the AFC based on a better win percentage in conference games.
Sunday s win over the Patriots moves the Dolphins one step closer to the playoffs with two games remaining.
The Patriots loss ensures this will be the first season they don t finish with a winning record since 2000, Bill Belichick s first year as head coach. They had been playing well with four wins in their previous six games entering Week 15.  ....
