The higher a person’s income, the more likely they were to protect themselves at the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States, Johns Hopkins University economists find.
When it comes to adopting behaviors including social distancing and mask wearing, the team detected a striking link to their financial well-being. People who made around $230,000 a year were as much as 54% more likely to increase these types of self-protective behaviors compared to people making about $13,000.

Tickets for the NRL Trial match between the Gold Coast Titans and the New Zealand Warriors at Lismore’s Oakes Oval go on sale this Monday.
In a major coup for Lismore, the pre-season trial match on Saturday, 27 February 2021, will pit some of Australia’s and New Zealand’s best players against each other in the lead-up to the 2021 NRL season.

New life for historic Bourke police residence
The NSW Government has renovated and upgraded a heritage-listed former police residence in Bourke which will be used by CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes as its new Bourke office for social and community services.
The 119-year-old building at 28 Mertin Street has been renovated by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment – Crown Lands to help benefit the regional community.
“This is fantastic news for the not-for-profit CatholicCare, which has been appointed Crown land manager of the site, and the thousands of residents it supports,” NSW Nationals Upper House MP Sam Farraway said.
“The former police residence will be used as the Bourke branch office for CatholicCare’s Wilcannia–Forbes diocese which is the largest in NSW, operating across 14 offices and 414,000 square kilometres covering more than half the entire State.” ....

Researchers will use cutting-edge quantum technologies to transform our understanding of the universe and answer key questions such as the nature of dark matter and black holes.
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is supporting seven projects with a £31 million investment to demonstrate how quantum technologies could solve some of the greatest mysteries in fundamental physics. Researchers from the University of Cambridge have been awarded funding on four of the seven projects.
