ON Thursday, December 3, the rain may have poured but this didn’t stop the Early Years and Form One children at Moorfield School and Nursery, Ilkley, from performing their own version of ‘The Nativity’ in the playground. Unfortunately, being in Tier 3 meant that families couldn’t come to watch, but luckily the school had organised some extra special visitors as the audience - animals from Ian’s Mobile Petting Farm. The donkeys even doubled up as a mode of transport for Mary and Joseph to get safely to Bethlehem! Mrs Nicola Minshall, Head of Early Years said: “Covid-19 has already robbed the children of so many experiences this year and the staff at Moorfield were not willing to let it get in the way of a Christmas tradition. Instead, lifelong memories were made which can be enjoyed and shared with the family over and over again, having each received a digital copy of the performance. Afterall, it’s not every day you get to perform to and alongside alpacas, goats, chickens, donkeys, rabbits and more!
