May 21, 2021 Ryun King owns Gallery X Art Collective in Murray Kentucky says he has made some mistakes in his past and it's even worse if you got a tattoo to commemorate that. After covering some of his friends swastika tattoo's he made an Instagram post last June that simply said “If you have a racist tattoo and you want it gone, I’ll cover it for free. No questions asked.” That was the idea for Cover the Hate. The crew has now received hundreds of requests from people all over the world who want to cover up racist tattoos they regret. King dedicates every Thursday to this effort and says his waitlist is still “probably 10 to 20 years” long. To help get to everyone, he’s enlisted help from eight or nine other shops in the area.
