juror number ten. he s man in his stuff, these terms his from southern the southern part of delaware. and one of the things that we heard from the defense team as we were going through this trial was they believed that politics had a role in why hunter biden was even facing these charges. he said the defense team believe that the us attorney who was appointed by donald trump was essentially bullied into going after hunter because of criticism from house republicans and republicans in general. i asked the juror number ten, who did not want to be to show his face on television, whether their politics played any role in these deliberations. listen to what he had to say if anybody, was in that courtroom or in the jury room, they would know it was not motivated by politics politics played no part whatsoever in my mind no. i can t speak for the other jurors but nothing was nothing was ever said about this election year that was never brought up and aaron, we also he also told me that that the gun form that hunter biden signed back in october of 2018 when he bought the firearm that was the crucial piece of evidence in his mind and he believe that hunter biden lied when he signed it, and none of the other evidence from the from the from the defense to try to explain it away, really worked on the part of the jury one of the things that may come up by the defense team, they do they are weighing an appeal of this of this verdict is the fact that jurors never got to see a second oppression at that form, because the judge did not allow it. and so i asked the juror whether he believed that that would have made a difference. he said it would not have aaron sheep all right. i evan, thank you very much. outside that courthouse and having a chance to speak to turn number ten, which was obviously so fast thing is we d we d heard about the jury and their reactions and who they are all right. i m a panel with me now, katie rogers, i want to start with you because you have covered the biden family closely for a long time at the new york times and now we re seeing the president arrive in delaware, greeting his son. what are your sources telling you about how this has impacted president biden personally? well, i think everyone who has spoken to me who is close to the president and close to the bidens. they always really reiterate to me how much the president believes in his sons ability to stay sober. he s very proud on that level of his son and they always stressed to me that, yes, he is worried about the legal problems ahead for hunter biden, but he believes in his son s ability to continue his recovery. now, that said, the people close to him say that this is the thing that more than anything else he wakes up. if he s briefed by aids on gaza, the next immediate get thing is about his son or he is constantly in contact with his son. they speak at least once a day. so this is something that is going to add more weight to the president s mindset. he s already been quite worried about these legal problems, never having an end for his son. and this just adds to that, right? it didn t certainly at a crucial time in this case campaign. congressman buck, i wanted to play something else for you that juror number ten shared with evan perez about hunter biden. let me play it i did have empathy for him, for his addiction i don t wish that on anybody and especially correct. okay. let me let was the has to be a terrible dickson it comes from i think just significant that that juror says that after they unanimously convicted him on all counts. right. but still able to have that human empathy and obviously a lot of americans can relate to that who are dealing with this themselves or with others and their families, some sort sort of addiction the president though is to deal with the political side of this. do you think that he has managed this? appropriately as a father and as a president congressman yeah, i do. i think it s very difficult. you look at your son having an addiction like bad. the federal government, the congress obviously passed this law because folks who are addicted to drugs and buy guns are more likely to commit crimes. so certainly not a hunter biden category necessarily, but i think the joe biden president biden has done a great job of trying to stay above the fray and recognizing that his department of justice was a very difficult position attorney general merrick garland appointed a special counsel s so that that council would be independent and render independent judgment. and i think that people look at this case and recognize that it was done in an independent and fair way the idea that there may have been other crimes are really irrelevant. this this defendant totter biden, got a fair trial, a quick jury verdict, and i think that joe biden made the right statements after the verdict ryan, the thing is this this is not done for hunter biden or for joe biden, the whole family, right? he can still appeal just even on this case, i m i m talking separately from the tax case, which is very serious. but on this case alone, is this going to drag out for the remainder of election between sentencing appeals and all kinds of this process 100% because he s going to both appeal on the grounds that certain evidence should not have been excluded from the defense. and he s going to appeal on the grounds that under the second amendment, the constitution, that this particular criminal provision should be invalid and none of that is going to be sewed up before november. in fact, we ll probably at least a year from now before any of that gets stored up, even conservatively speaking, well, even conservatively speaking. all right, so that s a long time, katie, and it s certainly shows in terms of weighing on the president all the way through the election way beyond, but through the election i mentioned how joe biden, the first lady, was not able to get there in time today because happened so quickly. she wasn t actually able to be in the courtroom for the verdict but she was there almost every day. hunter sister was there is on its uncle a lot of other family members, his daughter testified ex girlfriends wives and we ve seen support from almost all of them on hunter and he s recovery. it has been something that clearly has damaged and hurt this family for a long time. they ve struggled with it what does the conviction mean, katie, for the whole family? i mean i think that this family has dealt a hunter biden has detailed his addictions over the years in various ways, whether it s through a memoir, through a lengthy magazine profile. but for the rest of this family, it s been a really long private, painful battle as we saw, this week during and last week during the trial. sorry these members of the biden family, onetime members of the biden family in current members recounted what was essentially they had all described as a held that they were in with him and a conviction is really the first time this very private battle has been laid bare for public consumption. so it s uncomfortable for them and they have had to sit there and here the shrapnel hit them yet again of hunter biden s choices have had to sit there and listen to him in his own words through his memoir, recount his drug use is a painful time for them congressman buck, president biden was asked about whether he would pardon his son right? on this crucial point, i want to play that exchange. it was with david muir let me, ask you will you accept the jury s outcome, their verdict no matter what it is? yes. and have you ruled out a pardon for your son? yes. you have congressman buck, how do you feel about this when he s saying that to show he believes in the system and he s not going to question it with a witch-hunt to rigged and all that, right? clearly, it is his son how do you feel? does he have to take this all the way to the mat? no. pardon? no commutation of his prison sentence, which by the way, he did not he did. not commit to or or do you think it would be appropriate and not hurt belief in the system if he were to commute his son sentence i don t think president biden wouldn t do anything until after the appeals are finished. number one, and that s going to happen after the election so he s going to have much more flexibility after the election whether he wins or loses to make a decision like this. now, if he were to engage in a pardon of president trump with president trump was victims of a federal crime at the same time that he pardon his own son. i think americans would understand a father doing that but i think he made the right statement at the time and that is i m not going to show preferential treatment to a member of my own family and a quick final word, ryan, just to be clear that this would go another year, you also have a very serious yes tax evasion charge, federal charge in california, which would carry significant present time that is underway. that s right. and the justice department said that it could carry up to 17 years in jail. and what s unfortunate for hunter biden is because you didn t do a plea deal. he will now have to convictions potentially steck up against each her to us sentencing guideline. the conviction that he just got today in delaware would count against him. he will not be a first-time offender if he is convicted in california. right. which could affect sentencing. i thank you very much. ryan. katie, and congressman, i appreciate all of you very much next trump and his supporters called the doj rigged and political. so what are they saying tonight? today. i ve given a speech on tighter tighter gun controls. yeah. and keeping guns out of the hands of felons and people who don t don t deserve them. and his sons on trial. i think yeah, it s just it s a crazy time in america full of folic contradictions, but, yeah, but this was, this was a sad day and i think it was inappropriate result. i don t think he s going to jail for very long. my off the cuff assessment is scheduled for 1016 months as the first defender and the judge may well go below that and give him a probationary sentence. who knows? yeah. it s not going to be a punitive situation i think it s very hard for republicans to insist that this is somehow a ruse. well, i mean it s sort of amazing. it seems to me that if you did get a guilty verdict here, that this would be something lawrence: when you look at the other channels and look at their conch of it, there is this reaction to compare what happened here and the justice system what happened to trump. and they say this is the legal system doing what it does this. is the right thing. but, i think they skipped the important step, this wasn t going go to trial at first, this was not there was unprecedented deal, and if they weren t shamed, both the prosecution as well as the defense with this deal, then we wouldn t have been here. now, you take that versus donald trump where you have unprecedented prosecution. not unprecedented deal. and i think there is a clear difference judicial system shouldn t be shamed. i get that everybody has someone, probably. i know i have family members that have struggled with addiction. steve: yep all of our family members should be treated the same it. looks like hunter biden is finally being held accountable like most americans would have ainsley. and, brian, we will bring you into this, too. the trump campaign said this is just a distraction from the real crimes, the real crimes are the biden family which has raked in tens of millions of dollars from china, raush and ukraine. what we learned in this court case the laptop really was hunter biden s. we knew that before. this is additional verification of that. which means we were lied to by those 51 intel individuals that signed that letter back before the election and joe biden. who lied to us about it. anbc, and cnn and npr who lied about it. social media individuals or social media platforms that were censoring this story so it didn t get out before the election. it s not just about addiction and lying on a government form. this goes beyond that the cover-ups. the money that the biden family possibly made from all of this. before the election. and burying a story so that you didn t know about it. you, the public, the voter didn t know about it before the election, brian. brian: yeah. a couple of things. number one out of everything on that laptop it s absolutely insane the one thing they get is the gun charge. on unsavory behavior that s witnessed there they all told us we are crazy for believing and definitely effected the 2020 election. also i think it s important this guy kevin morris who is funding all his legal defenses out of money. how do i know that s not hype. his daughter raised to hunter biden you are taking advantage of my dad who is writing checks for you. yeah. his dad is the president of the united states. he can t write the checks. but some obscure producer who made money early on and a sitcom nobody watches could empty his account for a guy who can t get off crack and obviously loves hookers. other thing is, the big story is coming up in the fall is going to be the tax case. and what about the made for tv moment, i m sorry, my heart does not go out to joe biden who has to go back to his house and stand in front of his driveway and hug his son who got convicted of a buying a gun and having haley biden throw it out while, by the way an hour before he was telling us the need for gun control. who booked that gig for him the day his son is actually. lawrence: that was so dumb. brian: actually convicted of a gun violation. the dumbest thing ever but smart to have the hug in the driveway so msnbc has something to talk about. and they want to say it s no dual path to justice and trump got convict and he got convicted. it s totally different. this guy actually scripted his conviction seven years ago. they made up charges on donald trump and didn t even tell us the charges until they handed it over to the jury. and when you come up and speak about a jury decision and don t like it, that s called an american free move to do. you are not being anti-american by criticizing a jury decision. is everyone happy with the way the o.j. decision came out. are you anti-american by saying o.j. pretty much got away with murder? no, i don t think so. so, yesterday really bothered me he comes off as a sympathetic figure where everything he has done is his own personal behavior. lawrence: speaking of that, brian, this is the media s reaction to that watch. this has to be as a parent the worst nightmare come true. joey and joe biden have been role models for parents of addicted children. you are seeing sort of such a sad day on personal level, but you are seeing such an uplifting day in terms of sort of heroic action in terms of what it means to live a principle. republicans have really struggled to make this line of attack stick because most people see this and feel sympathy. it is not an unfair verdict. they followed the law. but it s a sad verdict. this trial was so personal and so painful for the biden family. the details in this case, sarah, as you well know are really ugly and they are really sad. brian: we don t have audio here but just know, guys, that msnbc and cnn says it s a very sad day for the biden family which is true but it s all self-inflict and we will see how you guys feel about it. we are in cubey s in dallas. get the pulls of the people. what is your name? oh, my goodness, no. i m very, very proud of it. it s been three years. we haven t found anything, haven t seen anything. many people have tried. many people are covering it up. like who? the president of the united states. do you believe you ll be acquitted am. this is a complete misuse of the criminal process to interfere with the 2024 election. so much to fact check there including his tie. meanwhile the biden campaign is out with a new ad that hits donald trump during a campaign rally he had in las vegas just this past sunday. take a look. because i don t want anybody going at me we need every voter. i just want your vote, i don t care. i m joe biden and i approve this message. short and sweet. in just hours the jury will resume deliberating for a second straight day in a wilmington, delaware, courthouse. the jury got the case late yesterday following instructions from the judge and after hearing closing arguments from both the defense and the prosecution. prosecutors lay out what they described as overwhelming evidence against the president s son. hunter biden s attorney argued that prosecutors had not met their burden of proof in terms of proving the case beyond a reasonable doubt. earlier in the day the defense rested its case without calling hunter biden to testify. first lady jill biden was present in the audience for yesterday s proceedings as she has been throughout the trial. hunter biden has pleaded not guilty to three felony counts tied to a possession of a gun while using narcotics and lying on a government form. it s unclear how this case will impact the presidential race, but certainly those close to president biden are deeply concerned about the personal toll it will take on hunter biden s father. joining us now anthony coley who previously served as the top spokesperson for attorney general merrick garland. anthony, good to see you here on set in washington. let s talk about the hunter biden case first. what s your read on yesterday s closing arguments? so here s what s so interesting about this case, jonathan, is that there s a lot of circumstantial evidence here. we talked a lot about the passages in the book and then there are the text messages that all suggest that hunter biden was not sober during this period of time. but there is no smoking gun. there s no eyewitness here, so you can see a scenario where a jury says, you know, the government has not met its high burden of proof. that s the first thing. the second thing to me is a lot of what s happening off the stand, the unconditional love this man is receiving from all of his family not just through this trial but through his period of addiction. and number two, this reiteration that we heard from the president last week that he s going to respect the jury s verdict, and even if they return a not guilty verdict, that he would not pardon his son. and i can tell you if the shoe were on the other foot not only would donald trump not make that promise, this case a case of a similar a case looking at his family, you can see a scenario where he would not even have let it get this far. you know, he would have practically burned down the justice department if an obama era u.s. attorney was investigating his family. and biden has been very hands off. and briefly, what s the rule of thumb in terms of how long the jury will deliberate? could we get a verdict today? we could very well get a verdict today. one day of deliberation for every day the trial went on. that s the rule of thumb. they could come back they told the judge we deliberated for a couple days and we don t have a verdict, they re split. we ll turn to trump for just a moment. do you think the prosecution proved their case? i m not the lawyer, so i m not going to render my verdict, but i hope that hunter biden will be able to move on with his life. let s turn to donald trump s probation interview yesterday. it s a standard part of the procedure, about 30 minutes or so, but tell us why it matters and that includes because if he ends up with probation, he s not allowed to associate with other people who have criminal records themselves, have spent prison time, and at that point that s a lot of people in his universe including just the other day steve bannon. that s exactly right. plus also interesting here are the factors that go into whatever report that the probation officer provides, right? and you ve got to imagine that they re going to consider donald trump s efforts to accept the norms and the rules, and we know from just looking at this case, this is a man who has violated the norms and the rules, you know, ten different times he refused to accept this, narrowly tailored gag order. so it s going to be interesting to see how this one plays out. we are now precisely one month from donald trump s sentencing. today is june 11th. that comes july 11th. this probation here scheduled yesterday, are there other markers, procedures or events we should be looking for between now and that sentencing at the end of the month. no, i think right now what typically happens in the process the probation officer will prepare a report for the judge, and the judge obviously is the one that s going to make whatever determination he feels is appropriate in this case. and we will see if that includes prison time. msnbc justice and legal affairs analyst anthony coley, thank you. good to see you as always. next up here we ll bring you the latest from the middle east amid new reporting the biden administration is potentially looking at negotiating a deal with hamas to release american hostages in gaza. it s not clear if israel would be part of those talks. plus, donald trump s repeat conviction in new york could means he loses the liquor license at some of his golf courses. we ll have those stories, the other top headlines, as well as a check on sports and weather when we come right back. a check when we come right back. sup? more than just my armpits stink. that s why i use secret whole body deodorant. everywhere. 4 out of 5 gynecologists would recommend whole body deodorant, which gives you 72 hour odor protection from your pits to your- (sfx: deoderant being sprayed) secret whole body deodorant. welcome back to way too early. it is coming up on 5:30 a.m. here on the east coast, 2:30 out west on this tuesday morning. i m jonathan lemire. thanks for being with us. we re learning more this morning about the israeli military s daring rescue of four hostages over the weekend. newly released helmet camera footage shows forces rescuing them. the video has been edited by israeli authorities. the israeli military says the men were being held captive in the home of a hamas member. you can hear the operatives were under heavy fire when they entered the apartment. in an effort to give the rescuers ample cover the military says the air force started striking dozens of nearby targets. that led to scores of civilians including numerous children to be killed. gaza health officials say at least 270 people died during saturday s raid. israeli forces also rescued a fourth hostage, 26-year-old noa argamani. she was being held in a different building just 200 yards away. now, the united nation s security council has now adopted a u.s. backed cease-fire plan for gaza. 14 out of the 15 council members have voted in favor of resolution. russia abstained allowing it to pass. three other cease-fire resolutions had previously failed. this measure lays out a three phase plan to secure the release of hostages in exchange for palestinian prisoners. the second phase would continue as long as they negotiated an teend the war. this is the same proposal president biden outlined just a week or so back. israel and hamas are still in negotiations over the deal. if it falls through, the white house has discussed potentially holding its own negotiations with hamas to secure the release of the five americans who are still being held hostage. two current senior u.s. officials and two former officials tell nbc news those discussions would not include israel but would still be mediated by qatar. the white house has declined to comment on this possibility. joining us now white house reporter for the wall street journal, sabrina siddiqui. give us your latest reporting how much pressure is the white house putting on israel to take the deal, and is there any sense of optimism this time finally we can have a break through? based on the reporting and what we ve heard from the white house publicly, this is without question the most concerted effort that the biden administration has made in this eight month long war to get to some kind of deal. they ve been pushing for a temporary cease-fire for some time. obviously this deal as you note has phases, the beginning of which would be this six-week cease-fire when hamas would release israeli hostages in exchange for israel releasing palestinians who have been detained by the israeli government, and then of course negotiations over a permanent end to the war and the withdrawal of israeli forces from gaza. what s interesting about it is the u.s. is saying prime minister netanyahu has accepted the deal although we haven t heard prime minister netanyahu say that in public himself. reuters is reporting just this morning hamas has accepted the deal and willing to negotiate over the details. i think what you re really seeing from the administration is a real push to bring an end to hostilities especially given this administration has come nod a lot of criticism for u.s. support for israel during the course of this war given the devastation in gaza, and i think they really want to get to a deal not just to secure the release of hostages and some of the suffering in gaza but with the election just months away, it s really critical for president biden i think to get to a deal. with the civilian toll rising and certainly there is the possibility of a u.s.-hamas deal and much prefer israel be involved too. you mentioned political fallout and let s turn your recent reporting how the war weighs on the president. you spoke to one family in pennsylvania divided over whether or not to support biden at the ballot box in november because of this very issue. tell us about it. this to me is microcosm of the debate many democratic voters have been having since the start of the war as you ve seen not just progressive democrats but a lot of voters who are part of the democratic base, question the biden administration s really unequivocal backing of israel during the high civilian death toll, given the widespread starvation in gaza, and this family is one of the many families split what to do about it. there are democrats still going to support president bide even if they re frustrated with the way he handles this war, also they want to prevent another trump presidency, but there are a lot of voters who i think frustrated with the way this war has played out and that the president has not just not been very critical of israel during this offensive in gaza but also the u.s. has continued to provide weapons and other military support. and i think that coalition or that constituency is really key because there s a lot of concern within the white house and even among the biden campaign not those voters would swing towards trump but vote third party or stay at home. in a key voter ground like pennsylvania where his family is based some of these states are separated by tens of thousands of votes. neither candidate and certainly not president biden can afford to lose any voters in november. certainly the biden team desperate for this war to end before november. we mentioned earlier in the show the jury is deliberating in the hunter biden case and a verdict could come as soon as today. we went through the legal implications then, and certainly it s reported the personal toll this will take on president biden. as you talk to republicans and democrats alike whatever the verdict is here, guilty or not guilty, is it actually going to change anything in the presidential race? yeah, good morning, john. look, certainly the impact then of this fed policy meeting will be quite significant for this market picture, right? because it determines ultimately what does the rate cut in policy pretty much look like? how all the data has culminated so far and you saw just last week friday that hot jobs report being the labor market still looked pretty robust, 270,000 jobs still being created. all of that plus the growth projection, the inflation trajectory remaining a bit sticky, although there seems to be a drop, though. has all that data meant the fed is little more comfortable with cutting interest rates a little bit later on this year? or are they still in wait and see mode? and how much more data dependent will it be? all of that has meant the market is pretty nervous ahead of this meeting and has remained pretty negative to start things off, although it is close to that flat line. so apple as we just teased has announced a major push into a.i. with a huge impact on how we all could use our iphones. so what have we learned so far as to how this company s going to use artificial intelligence. well, if you like emojis, you can use the as a key starter. they ve also included their partnership with open a.i. which means chat gpt ultimately forms a big primary part then of apple as well-meaning siri works with chatgpt to formulate responses on answers and questions you may certainly have to the chat bot, which siri was known for. of course the big question mark is whether they d use that ability then to grow the data model and also be able to grow the number of people who actually purchase iphones. a question mark, however, is whether this will be enough to do that. not entirely sure. investors didn t necessarily feel too enlightened by the story and perhaps underwhelmed a bit on the updates. so perhaps not enough to shift investors at their price went down nearly 2% yesterday. and lastly shares of the british personal computer maker known as raspberry pie jumped on its first day as a public company. what does it say about the market for new stock listings? yeah, i mean i think the administration deserves a lot of credit for the work they did, you know, before the russian invasion and in the immediate wake of it and building real unity with european allies and building support from countries around the world. obviously the war in gaza for the last eight months has drawn a lot of attention. it continues to take up a lot of space on the agenda for very good reasons. i think the ukraine war has grown quite frustrating for them. it seems to be bogged down in a bit of a stalemate, so there are real questions about what will happen next there, although, president biden continues to make clear that the u.s. is going to be there, you know, supporting ukraine in the long haul. well, this is all happening in the midst of, you know, of a presidential campaign that they would really much rather be talking about domestic legislature accomplishments. so let s talk about where things stand in ukraine. as you said a bit of a stalemate at the moment, but russia made some progress in their offensive earlier this spring but not a lot. they continue to pound kharkiv with weaponry. tell us a little bit about the u.s. move to arm ukraine and allow them to strike within russia but also do you see much in the way changing on the battlefield or is this eventually going to turn into a frozen conflict that might eventually lead us to the negotiating table? right, i think if you go back about a year you saw a ukrainian counter offensive that surprised a lot of people in its effectiveness. the second counter offensive that began earlier this year was obviously not as successful. that has brought us to the situation where we are now, and that was not really a surprise because in the intervening year russia had the opportunity to really embed itself to lay a lot of mines, to dig a lot of trenches, so harder to root them out. but during the second counter offensive, so, yeah, it looks like we are there hasn t been too much movement. it looks like we might be in a frozen conflict for the moment. i think the ukrainian military hopes that a new strategy of striking russian facilities across the border could potentially change that equation. obviously, that s an escalation. the question is, is it a wise one? the question is, will that meaningfully change the situation here? you know, the kind of theory of the case that the administration has had up until now is to support ukraine s defense in the hopes that that would put them in the strongest possible position eventually around the negotiating table. i don t think that s changed. the question is, at what point does putin have interest in a negotiating piece? there s so many ways republicans attack this issue, and something that doesn t change is the hyper focus on crimes committed by cry mai migrants in the country illegally. there s always footage from border checkpoints. it mitigated some of the republican messaging, and it said to democrats that biden is willing to do things that are unpopular with the base. i think that s popular with some voters who are on the fence, who voted for biden last time. it s not going to mitigate the entire immigration issue for him. republicans, you know, are the ones who killed the bipartisan border bill earlier this year. democrats have really tried to make that point, but have we seen that has sunk in, changed the polling? it hasn t changed the polling, but democrats have the argument. they could say, we know what it takes to fix the border. republicans blocked this to help donald trump. what is donald trump s answer? what is he going to do? to make the space for the argument is what this executive order was for. but, no, they ve not found a way out of this since really early 2021 when border crossings were up because biden reversed trump s policies. republicans have a simple message here, which is, do you remember all the border crossings when trump was there? remember migrants coming to new york, chicago, et cetera? trump is going to reverse that. there is nothing as simple democrats have. they have been showing they re willing to say to the migrant advocates in their base that they re not listening to them. they re going to adopt policies the aclu is going to sue them for probably any day in california. let s turn to primaries. you ve been following it closely. nancy mace, representative of south carolina, her election is tonight. tell us about that race and also what we re seeing writ large about these intraparty battles. the mace race will be hard to follow. she won 2020. donald trump endorsed her opponent in 2022. donald trump is for her this time. she has one of several races where trump has intervened in some way and become the issue in the race. that s intensified since the convictions in new york. this one is kind of unique. her opponents have argued that whatever nancy mace says, she s in this for attention. if you want a true maga conservative who is not going to ever make you question where the next vote is coming from, vote for me. that s her problem. across the country in north dakota, trump has a candidate today in the open seat, next few weeks in virginia. i was just there where trump endorsed against bob good, and good was saying i m the maga candidate, campaigning with steve bannon. the elections are still about who is most loyal to trump. you mentioned the criminal conviction of trump. we re ten days from that news. what are we seeing so far as to how it is impacting the presidential race? as you talk to republicans and democrats alike, we ve seen polls move just slightly but move, just slightly, to president biden. do we think that s going to intensify, stay where it is, or fade away in the months before november? we were talking about immigration messaging for republicans. this is even more coherent. there is no one breaking against larry hogan, across the river from here, but almost nobody else in the republican party saying there is something legitimate in the court decision in new york. that matters. you have an entire party creating the structure for swing voters to say, i don t know about this conviction. they re trying to move the numbers. we saw two weeks ago the hypothetical conviction in new york was unpopular. we saw a fifth of trump voters said they might not vote for him if this happened. republicans are doing, day by day, saying, ignore this, forget about it. it is an attempt to get trump because they couldn t get him otherwise. let s see how far we can kick these other cases down the road. it has hurt on the margins, but and a two-point margin could matter in the race, but it is not the size republicans are worried about because of all the work they re doing in saying, pay no attention to the indictment behind the curtain. democrats had some focus on it but less coherent or consistent on the issue. yeah. politics reporter for semafor, dave weigel, thanks for being here. thanks for getting up way too early on this tuesday morning to all of you. morning joe starts right now. unlike the vast majority of felons out there, trump was allowed to do his interview at mar-a-lago over a video conference call. bashir is with us. this is a time when the peace process is going through a crucial point absolutely. i mean, we ve been hearing from the us was on time now calling for more pressure to be put by their key regional allies on hamas to agree to a ceasefire proposal. we heard from hamas yesterday. welcoming, be you when resolution put forward by the united states. but of course, blinken has also been meeting with key figures in israel as all we know he met with benny gantz, who of course, step down from the war cabinet we ve heard from benny gantz since saying that he wants to see maximum pressure being applied at all parties to come to some sort of ceasefire agreement. but of course we re hearing a lot of mixed messages as well while the united states continues to reiterate that this is an israeli proposal that they believe israel will back this deal. we heard yesterday from israel s representative to the united nations, so that is what he has to say to the cameras. i just met with the families of the american okay so that s a shame, but we re going to try and get that back. he s obviously says he s meeting the families of american hostages. i think that s where he was going. yeah. i mean, getting the hostages out continues to be a key priority for the united states. a key ally of israel that continues to be a key priority. of course, for the israeli government, the israeli prime minister, what we heard yesterday from israel s representative to the united nations is that israel does not want to engage in what they described as meaningless discussions and negotiations with hamas that they will continue with their objective, not only to get all the hostages out from captivity in gaza, but also to completely diminished downgrade hamas to the point where gaza no longer poses a threat going to israel to the state of israel. now of course, that sends somewhat of a mixed message given the fact that biden has presented this peace deal as one that is, and it s really deal that has the backing of the israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu. and we ve heard from the biden administration saying that the us assessment at this stage is that they believe hamas has been downgraded the point where they are no longer able to carry out an attack, such as the attack that we saw on october 7. and of course, this is a three-phase deal which does set out the parameters very peaceful exchange of all the hostages currently held captive by hamas in gaza in exchange for palestinian prisoners. so those parameters are set out in the deal. it is a deal that we ve heard from hamas now saying that they welcome that they are willing and ready to work with mediators and negotiators to secure this peace agreement. and of course, what we ve inherited from the us for some time now is that the ball is firmly in hamas s cool, but we ve also heard from the state department saying that they believe this is a deal which is almost identical to a deal that hamas agree two weeks ago. so the hope is that mediators and the middle east who have been working closely with hamas will be able to secure a firm agreement from hamas whether or not israel agrees to this, that remains to be seen. this is being presented as an israeli deal, but of course prime minister netanyahu is facing mounting pressure from right-wing elements of his coalition who do not want to see this deal approved. they want to see a continuation of the war. okay. i will have more on that. and the security council decision last night. but let john thank you. that. but now to two stories dominating the law and justice landscape us the historic meeting between the former president and his probation officers and the child of the current president s son, jury deliberations will resume today in delaware, where hunter biden faces up to 25 years in prison if he s convicted of gun charges, he s pleaded not guilty for the first time ever. former us president has met with his probation officers ahead of sentencing for is 34 felony convictions. the source tells cnn trump s virtual interview was routine and uneventful. another said the former president was polite, respectful, and answered all questions cnn s a brynn gingras, as the details the former president finishing his meeting with a probation officer were told from a source that it lasted about 30 minutes and his camp calling it uneventful now it s notch clear exactly what sort of questions were asked in this meeting, but what is customary is the fact that this always happens after a defendant has either pleaded guilty or is convicted of the crime. that they re charged with. we know some of the questions that are asked are about the criminal history of that person, the family background, their financial background, did they ever abuse alcohol? for drugs, things like this? what s also not customary in this situation? of course, the fact that there is a former president as the person who is being interviewed by the probation office, but also they happen virtually. we know that the former president at mar-a-lago, he was there with his attorney. that was allowed by the judge in this case. now, what s going to happen next is that trump s defense team is going to submit their own sentencing recommendation and both that along with this report made by the probation officer, will be factored in to judge juan, were sean s decision about what sentence trump should face for being convicted on those 34 counts. just a few weeks ago. so we re waiting. of course for that. happened the sentencing date still said or july 11, brynn gingras, cnn, new york. the judge in trump s classified documents case refusing to dismiss a number of charges against the former president and his two co-defendants, judge aileen cannon did agree that some of the language in the indictment was legally unnecessary and should be removed trump is accused of keeping classified documents. so this florida resort, after he left the white house, he has claimed at various points that he didn t have the documents. he declassified the documents just by thinking about it. and that he had the right to keep the documents. the delaware courtroom, where hunter biden s federal gun trial. meanwhile, is being held, was packed with supporters of the president s son on monday. both sides presented closing arguments during the historic case, making their final appeals to the jurors cnn s paula reid has the highlights from day six of the trial in a major show of support, hunter s family members and pastor taking up three rows in court today have known the family you don t abandon your friends and family tough time. in closing arguments, prosecutors pointed to the gallery of supporters and said, those people are not evidence and reminded the jury that, quote, no one is above the law, the prosecution directly address the most difficult element they have to prove that hunter biden knowingly lied on a federal background check form when purchasing the gun at the center of this case, the defendant knew he used crack and was addicted to crack at the relevant time period adding that hunter would have been aware from his time in rehab that he had a problem with drugs maybe if he had never gone to rehab, he could argue he didn t know. he was an addict at the end of his closing, prosecutor, leo wise circled back to testimony from hunters daughter, naomi, on friday, when she told the jury that when she returned or fathers card him on october 19, 2018, she did not see any evidence of drugs, but why is reminded the jury hunter s former girlfriend, hallie biden, his brother, beau biden s widow, had testified that when she found the gun in the same car days later, she found it alongside drug paraphernalia defense attorney abbe lowell countered, warning jurors not to convict his client in properly adding it s time to end this case. he compared the trial to a magician s trick trying to dupe the jury, saying, watch this hand, pay no attention to the other one he accused prosecutors of cherry picking thinking evidence to present a more timeline of hunter s drug use and said his client was not lying when he marked down that he was not an addict on that federal form. lowell attack, two of hunter s former girlfriends who both served as prosecution witnesses in this case. he noted zoe kestan took pictures of hunter with drugs, but not in the key month of october 2018, he also reminded the jury that hallie biden could not remember specific details about when she found the gun in hunter s car and noted hunter was the one who told hallie to file a police report for the missing after she threw it out. hunter did not take the stand to testify in his own defense in this case, a move that would have come with potential rewards and definite risks the jury will return to court at 9:00 a.m. on tuesday to continue deliberations now is in court monday morning as the jury heard instructions from the judge, she went through line by line explaining the rules that they have to follow as they undertake this historic decision. paula reid, cnn, wilmington, delaware, joining from s not the precedent, we re talking about, the president s son eighth, sit president son that s on trial, right now. i just to think that because it s a federal case, max biden, president biden, if hunter biden work to be convicted, he asked her ability to pardon him already said that he s not willing to part is his own son. he wants to make sure that people trust in our criminal justice system and that there s no favorites is but it s a historic moment in the sense that we are dealing with a sit-in president s son is on trial on felony charges and could possibly face jail which way do you think the jury appears to be going based on their responses to the judge so it depends. there haven t been any jury nodes, but it depends on are you judging this case based on sympathy? if you re not judging the case on sympathy and just on plain facts, and if we weren t dealing going with the son of a sitting president, doesn t the prosecution has proven this case beyond a reasonable doubt, not directly, but circumstantially with the testimony of hallie biden, with the testimony of the cocaine residue, haven t been recovered with testimony having to deal with biden s own words in his memory that he is a crack addict, was a crack addict at the time dealing with the text messages, those stories, dealing with a witness testimony, i think in its totality that the prosecution, the government has proven that hunter biden, it s guilty of being in possession of this firearm, haven t been under the influence. i m not a codex and also lying on that formula to update that by r. so what sort of sentence would you get from those parts of the trial so if hunter biden were to be convicted, he can face anywhere up to 25 years if he s convicted on all three of the couch highly own likely that he will see anything near 25 years. the judge has sentencing guidelines where it s recommended what is possible sentence good. because hunter biden doesn t have a criminal record because hunter biden, at this point now he said he has been cleaned because hunter biden also was dealing with a dependency on narcotic dependency, who s quite honestly it drug addiction that s been put on entre i think he can face anywhere from probation up until maybe a year or two years years in jail. my recommendation quite honestly is that this case does not is not deserving of any jail sentence. if anything, we re dealing with a drug program that hunter biden should go through quite nicely. i think this prosecution shouldn t have gone forward initially remained as a deferred prosecution disposition how might the president be implicated as part of this trial were not at all. i mean, he hasn t been mentioned in this trial aside from being a father of hunter biden, here we re dealing with a drug addiction. we know that unfortunately, hunter biden was going through some dark times and even admitted it. that s why he wrote that book. but to try to get others to get some insight as to what it is to go through a drug addiction. but there s no mention of president biting in this case. we know outside of the courtroom there has been mentioned having to deal with that laptop, but inside of the courtroom, he s not playing oh, role. it s not supposed to be playing a role and to deliberations and has nothing to do with the charges itself you ll see in america a, your a legal expert, but you also in america aware of the trump cases as well is there a way that donald trump can use this case against president biden campaign oh, absolutely. he s already using it and he s used it in a past. i ve been to deal with wears hunter biden especially doing his first time when he was running for president, actually a second time when he was running for president to try to take the is a away from what his insufficiencies are. instead focusing on president biden is saying that look, his son is on drugs, his son was participating and illegal activity that his son had some shady dealings with people well outside of america so of course to his people, that is what he s arguing. but of course, when you look at it and the eyes and the legal eyes, there s nothing having to deal with president united states at the un security council there on the parameters, the provisions for the full release of israeli hostages held captive by hamas it s in gaza. in exchange of palestinian prisoners, but it also calls for the full withdrawal of israeli troops from gaza for the return of palestinian civilians to all parts of the gaza strip. and of course, what hamas wants to see ensured in this ceasefire agreement is the territorial integrity of the gaza strip. and of course, no demographic shifts crucially within the gaza strip. now, what we have heard so far from hamas is a statement yesterday of the back of that resolution vote saying that they welcome the deal. as you mentioned, they want to carry on with discussions with mediators that they are open to those ongoing discussions remains to be seen whether they issue a full and firm agreement to this deal. but we also haven t seen that fall and firm agreement by the israeli government, the us continues to reiterate that they believe that the israeli government will back this deal. but of course we ve been hearing at different messages from those far-right elements of prime minister netanyahu s coalition, who do not want conservatives and facing his new york probation officers. all on the same day during watch in the hunter biden trial, how the biden family might impact back the verdict. and this you re not staying, sir the georgia congressional candidate who just walked off the stage in the middle of a debate all right 6:00 a.m. here in washington alive. look at the us capitol on this tuesday morning good morning, everyone and kasie hunt. it s wonderful to have you with us samuel alito s private beliefs apparently exposed in a secretly recorded audio tape, the conservative supreme court justice seeming to endorse a fight to return our country to a place of godliness and quote it was a liberal activist and filmmaker who secretly recorded the justice and his wife at a supreme court historical society dinner earlier this month people in this country, we re leaving that, keep fighting to return our country to a place the bottling names. i agree with important to underscore during that dinner, the activists misrepresented herself. she claimed to be a religious conservative the executive director of the supreme court historical society issued this statement on monday saying, quote, we condemn any sort surreptitious recordings of justice s at the event which is inconsistent with the entire spirit of the evening. attendees are advised that discussion of current cases, cases decided by current sitting justices or justices, jurors, pure prudence is strictly prohibited and may result in forfeiture of membership in the society earlier. in the conversation, the activist told alito that she didn t think that the right could negotiate with the left. here was his response one. side or the, other. there can be a way of working, our way of living together it s different because they re differences fundamental things that really can t comment so it s not like you re going to see what the difference a little hard to hear their finals here. molly ball, senior political correspondent at the wall street journal, meghan hayes, former special assistant to president biden, and matt gorman, the former senior adviser to the tim scott presidential campaign. welcome to all of you molly ball. this of course, i think underscores the pressure that alito is at the moment in our highly charged political environment where the justices are about to decide whether or not donald trump is immune in the january 6 case clearly, he s in a situation where he is responding in the affirmative to someone he is encountering at a party and yet the remarks are still illuminating in terms of how he thinks about things. yeah. i mean, i think as you said on the one hand, we ve all done the thing where someone approaches you that you don t know and you just kinda play along. you just sort of say you re agreeing with whatever it is that they re saying. i m either end it s no surprise to anyone that he s a conservative right, and that he does view, society as, as somewhat corrupted by a lack of godliness or i wouldn t be surprised to hear him say any of those things in a judicial opinion for example. so it s all pretty broadly consistent with the judicial philosophy and the political philosophy that we know that he subscribes to. i think also the fact that the recording is coming out tells you that increasingly the supreme court is being treated as another political branch of government. the people are sending trackers after them basically like they would with a political candidate monitoring their every utterance and looking through it for potentially damaging or politically useful bits of audio that, that can be used against them in what s essentially become a full-time political campaign. and that i think as we and others have reported, has contributed to a very high level of tension and division on the court itself has made it increasingly difficult to function. yeah, it s it s speaking of division on the court itself. i mean in this highly fraught moment that we find ourselves in as a country where there does seem to be this kind of looming question about violence. certainly we have had more violence in our politics in recent years than we had seen in another monitor campaigns with what happened on january 6, john roberts was also approached by this activist and he approached this very differently and it underscores a little bit of tension on the court as molly was just touching on. again, john roberts, appointed by george w bush. he is the chief justice. he is also a conservative but has carved out a much different kind of role for him self on the court. so when he was approached by this activist and some of these same themes of godliness. the question i believe was is the us a christian nation? here s how john roberts responded since i put here a little 20 years, i ve been quieter times but the idea that the court is in the middle of a lot of tumultuous stuff going on. that s nothing new. the civil war, we did that very vietnam. you people getting killed and i was there. this is all right. i mean, it s it s not all right. but it s not like it s dramatic medically different people that s a common thing. people, their own perspective like this is so slow ordinary i don t know. heed the christian nation question. robert s actually responded that he has jewish friends, muslim friends who might disagree with that. he went on to talk about it a little bit, but megan haze, there. he was saying he was talking about other cataclysmic periods in our history, the civil war vietnam basically saying that we re going to be all right in the end. what is your view of all of this? and the way it s an unfolded, but particularly this difference between alito roberts here. yeah. i mean, i do think that we re gonna be all right. our democracy is built to survive and hopefully it will survive regardless of who wins the election in november. but i do think that there is a difference here, and i think that there was a difference. if you listen to alito s wife and how she responds and her reaction system of the questions that she got are also extremely stark. and so just just goes to show how these justices are thinking and how that they are forming their opinions. and it is, it is quite different and it is jarring when you hear their responses. let s listen to a little bit of what martha alito also who was approached by the same activist again, here s a little bit of what she had to say you know what i want i want sacred heart of jesus flag because i had to look cross the lagoon at the pride flag for the next month. exactly and he s like, oh, please don t put several my heritage come after me away. it doesn t have to be away. debris don t worry about it okay. she also said that justice alito doesn t control her at one point. but you don t seem to admit their that he did ask her not to put up a flag in this case. definitely go we put the flag up let me look at this whole thing. i saw on twitter the person lauren windsor put up, that this is gonna be a big undercover storage tweeted out, tease that out. before it came out. and then when it came out like this, this is what this is. i mean, this was the same person that was the one reported by the intercept who sent the kind of democratic activists to charlottesville, dresses neo-nazi would tiki torches to kind of stand outside the glenn youngkin s yvette. but with the lincoln project. so i m not getting i m not surprised by this, but i will say that i think a lot of what molly said his right. it s also just his religious philosophy makes no bones that he s a devout christian now, i was at church over the weekend and a lot of those same themes. it s country but more about the world gold and sin and godliness. those same themes or what kinda prevalent. church, i m really not surprised. i mean, i think that the piece of it that i really i got caught on was where he seems to go on and say that there may not be a way to resolve these differences ever, which i suppose is part of what you re saying. i mean, it s it s again, i think we stepped back from the politics of it. i think the way the christians look at it is sin and whatever faith i m not putting it very eloquently. the priesthood better job in his homily over the weekend. but but no, i think that is more of the way that he was talking about it for me again, he s devout christian. i don t really see what the the big thing is, megan, but these people, i just think our supreme court justices sort of need to rise above this. and i agree with molly that like we ve all been in a situation where you just like nod and say, but he went further and then when his wife s comments, it just shows that like they re they re not viewing themselves as above and making laws for our country. it was his faith like it was not, it was not about politics. they re talking to say, it also she was goading him. she would want to introduce scholarliness into it. she was the one that he s just agreeing. yeah, i agree. like it s these ideas weren t germinated on their own. she was leading him. i don t agree with what she did. i think it s terrible and i think both sides do it and i think it s awful. i don t think we d be putting a lot more women pre haven t talked about project verisign s 09 and rightfully so i m fine, but the amount of media saturation i didn t read the new york times is covering this now it s ridiculous. who would never do this. it was james o keefe and practice, but that s not true. but i just think we owe nine we haven t done a sense so charade continues deliberations today, the defense rested yesterday after hunter declined to testify in this historic case. it s the first criminal trial against the child of a sitting president. during closing arguments, prosecutors tried to convince the jury that hunter was a drug user at the time that he purchased a gun six years ago, saying, quote, hadi continued to use narcotics smoke, crack every 15 minutes throughout 2018 and decided not to buy a gun. we wouldn t be here in this courtroom. choices have consequences. and that s why we re here later. hunters defense attorney argued the prosecutors case was similar to a magician s trick, adding quote, there is nothing there. joining me now from wilmington, delaware is alex thompson, the national political reporter for it? axios, who has been covering this trial day in and day out. alex, wonderful to see you how just catch us up with what you saw in court yesterday during these closing arguments. and i want to dig into how the family in particular is playing into this because my understanding is the jurors were told not to be intimidated by the fact that it s the families the president of the united states yes. so yesterday you saw bolt very lengthy closing arguments, i believe abbe lowell hunter biden s lawyer when for about 87 minutes and then the prosecution got two shots at it and they probably got about the same about 87 minutes. and to your other points the prosecution said, if they have not proven that hunter biden was a crack addict than no one is a crack addict. and it got a little chip between the two sides. abbe lowell at one point said that the prosecution had been quote enormously cruel two naomi biden hunter biden s daughter, the president s granddaughter, and how they cross-examined tr the government came right back and said it was then who put her on the stand that put her in that position. and it was hunter biden who according to text messages tom had been erratic and texting in the middle of the night and had i think they ve put it as said, blowing her off and so it got very personal in terms of how the family yesterday was the most family that we have seen in this trial. you had aunts, uncles cousins, the cousins, spouses. it was at least a full thing and it was interesting that both sides, in their closing arguments made you made allusions to the family. now, abbe lowell hunters lawyer has been really trying to portray hunter as a family person and has been referencing the family as as part of that that he is just i think one of you, whereas the prostitution is basically saying what? you just alluded to, which is don t be intimidated. this is not these people are not evidenced. these people are not really part of the trial how would you describe kind of the the mood among the biden family members who attended from what? you could observe it, what did what did that feel like yeah. i think they you can see a little bounce in their step after abbe lowell s closing, having just a fulsome 87 minute defense from of hunter when i think a lot of the family feels he has just been hit day after day after day for the last several years and i think i even saw bowel biden, the president, sister give them a go, give abby go, get them. right? right afterward. but after at the very end i don t think the family likes being at felony trial for joe biden s son, and you could tell there were certainly moments ashley biden in particular, the president s daughter and hunter sister has you been very emotional at moments in this trial having to leave at some point, plate lots of tears. and you can tell it s been harder on some than on the others. one of the arguments that came up was about hallie biden one of the attorneys said quote, poor hallie biden knew had to be dragged through this period of her life. again, who understandably did not remember a lot of the details well she remembering what she saw that day or dozens of other days when she too was using if you notice, she could remember what the prosecutors asked her. the prosecutors are also gave her immunity, but not so much for any number of things so that that i guess coming from from abbe lowell well, it clearly they felt like they needed to defend other members of the family. two, how did that fit in this been a key part of hunter biden strategy from the very beginning, which is to really try to undermine the credibility of hallie biden, who s beau s widow, who is also his sister-in-law. and the reason is because her testimony he is, very very troubling if you re a hunter, biden, the fact is that she was the one that found the gun. she and when she testified that when she went into the truck, she found crack cocaine, paraphernalia, suggesting that he had been smoking very recently, that she found powder that day, which also suggested he d been using am was the one that he was texting during the period he had the gun in which he said that he was smoking crack and this goes to a larger sort of dynamic within both the defense and the prosecution, which you at the very end of the day beyond the facts that case, i think it will really come down to you. do you relate to hunter biden or do you resent hunter biden and the prosecutor? the hunters team at basically wants to make you think he s a family man that he was suffering from a disease that he s one of you in delaware home grown. whereas the defense is saying no, this is a bad guy. this is the guy that what the little details that he was trying hundred $51,000 in cash withdrawal and just three months that he was a millionaire, that he was yael educated, that he gave $800 to his 24-year-old girlfriend to buy clothes for his daughters. these little details that are meant to portray a different sort of person and that may end up being the difference maker with this jury all right. alex thompson for us this morning. alex. thank you very much for that. meghan hayes, can i ask you, you know, someone who s been in the biden family orbit? how this all mean as alex said, that they entire family has shown up for him at this trial. understandably, but it s gotta be weighing on the president who of course has not made an appearance at the courtroom. yeah. i mean, i don t think anybody hit this table. be surprised. a hunter is at the forefront of the presence minor, it adds, it s think abortion is probably the best issue for democrats and it makes the most sense for him to run on it. and i think it doesn t make sense also for trump to give more grist to anything and that they immigration on the right, abortion and left competing as the single issue crawl over broken glass type issues for voters. and which one wins out last couple years exceed abortion went out, could happen again, immigration has been very salient, loved what happens, and i think that s gonna tell us its substrate election. well, and i think the debate that i m hearing among my republican sources about how they and their candidates should message the abortion issue is very similar to it. why here democrats talking about immigration? the question is, do you try to keep it off the agenda and not talk about it in the hopes that you can raise the salience of some other issue, right. so if you re a democrat to ignore immigration and just tried to talk about abortion where you feel like you have a better message there is a school of thought, i think in both of these camps that says no, you have to go at it. you have to say to voters, i understand why you think this is important and here is my position so that they re not left guessing. so republicans have been having this active debates since the fall of roe, saying we do have to have a message for voters about abortion. we do have to have something to say to them. otherwise, we re just going to get clobbered and i think you ve seen democrats on immigration, the same thing. a lot of candidates have tried to avoid the issue, but there is a new conventional wisdom on the democratic side that says if you do that you re just gonna get killed on this issue. that is important to so many voters. you do need to have some kind of positive message, even if it s not necessarily going to be popular because in both cases, the parties are on the wrong side of these respective issue really interesting way to think about it, okay the house they are normal. but using conspiracy theories, falsehoods, violence, and threats of violence to effect political outcomes is not normal. the short-term political benefits of those tactics will never make up for the long-term cost to our country continued unfounded attacks against the justice department s employees are dangerous for people safety, they are dangerous for our democracy. and they must stop. what do you have to say to his argument there attorney general garland is let s just say it s laughable. what he s taking party and he s not above the law. he says he s not going to be intimidated it s very simple. why don t think he s arguing that he s above you re saying he s not above the law in the context of the contempt charges around that that you are considering what what he s not above the law in is when congress has every right, an article one the whole committees that investigates the doj in any other agency. and what we asked for is the sense that president biden had an interview with robert hur asking for the audio tapes very, very simple. the audio tapes and he won t. they initially started back in february of this february 5th and we asked for the audio tapes which do exist and on february 16, the doj under the guidance of merrick garland said they weren t going to meet the timeline. they extended the timeline. so and then finally they came back and said there s no justifiable reason why you need the audio tapes that the biden has already waived executive privilege by printing the the interview so they re just want to tape to see if they match up with what s being reported. they redacted several parts of it. so but and it s saying he s not above the law. he s going to be in contempt. we will pass it, i think in the rules and will hold him accountable like he s doing every every other person has got an arb aside, their name and you re going to learn from the tapes that you can t learn from the transcripts the tapes were backup, will either justify what has been the the transcript say or they won t. do you think actually tampered with a the transcripts? is that what you re saying? we have no idea until we get them. they haven t. that s what attorney general garland refuses to turn over is very simple. turn turn the tape over, and so we can see if it matches with the transcripts either does or does it? and do you think that you have in the full house to hold the garland in contempt oh, i have no idea. we ll see what the evidence we will have testimony today that are probably last six to eight hours. you have a democratic the power to potentially move votes is even though she does have this history of endorsed pressing liberal politicians and taking liberal positions, she is not, i think pigeonholed as just sort of hollywood liberal, liberal celebrity. and so she s able to speak in an authentic way to her following it hearkens back to a funny time where donald trump was on twitter like talking about robert
