Reporter dan and ama the tree is quite large. Crews were unable to finish the clean up work tonight. How, as the tree fell it pulled up a chunk of the sidewalk creating a big mess on busy college avenue. Workers with the professional Tree Care Company dropped everything when they got a call from the city of berkeley about a fallen tree on college avenue. The 80foot elm is three feet in diameter and much of it landed on top of an apartment building. No one was hurt and there was minimal structural damage. Removing the tree piece by piece has been a challenge. The guys are using power tools in what would be normally daylight and now it is dark outside. In a perfect situation we would have big light towers and leet up the whole and light up the whole scene. The elm was found hollow and likely diseased and the rain and the wind were enough for the tree to topple. It also shutdown F ....
