No. 21/24 Noles Gear Up for ACC Championships

ACC Championship Site • ACC Release • FSU Notes • Live Timing • Live Scoring TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 21/24 Florida State swimming and diving teams will begin competing at the 2022 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships on Tuesday at the McAuley Aquatics Center in Atlanta, Ga. This will be the first time the ACC will host the men’s and women’s swimming and diving meets in the same week. “We’re very excited to get started at ACCs,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “Competing together at this meet is huge for us since we’re a team that thrives off each other. This is what we’ve worked for all year. We’re in a good spot and we can’t wait to get started. It’s going to be an incredible team atmosphere and that’s when we’re at our best.” All sessions will be broadcast via the ACC Network Extra. Moynihan Named ACC Swimmer of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State senior swimmer Rebecca Moynihan was named the ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week following her performance at the Auburn Invite.

Moynihan anchored the 200 medley relay to victory behind an NCAA automatic time of 1:36.37, getting the Noles back to the meet in the event for the first time since 2019.

The performance is currently ranked 12th in the country this season.

Moynihan also led off the 200 free relay to an NCAA provisional time of 1:29.57, splitting 22.54 (NCAA B).

“Rebecca is a major part of getting that relay to NCAA this year,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “She came back for a fifth year and her work ethic and leadership have made such a difference this year. She works very hard, and I am so happy she is being recognized. I’m excited to see what she’s capable of in the postseason.”

The team captain also competed in the individual 50 free, clocking 22.60 for fifth place.

Noles Add More Personal Bests to Close Out Auburn Invite

AUBURN, Ala. – The No.19/RV Florida State swimming and diving teams closed out competition at the Auburn Invite on Saturday. Pia Murray and Hannah Womer contributed podium performances, while members of both teams added career best swims. Murray swam a personal best in the 200 back, touching at 1:54.94 for the win. Her swim still ranks her third on the FSU all-time top 10 list. Oliva Sapio followed in seventh place, clocking 1:59.74 to close out her career. Gloria Muzito led the way for the Noles in the 100 free, touching at 50.88 for 11th place, just ahead of Brooke Arnold (51.08) in 12th and Gabrianna Banks (51.20) in 13th. In the 200 breast, Rachel Moran placed seventh at 2:17.44 ahead of Nora Woods in 11th (2:22.83). Hannah Womer added bronze in the 200 fly, touching at 1:58.66. Ella Dyjack represented the Seminoles in the 1650 free, touching fourth at 17:11.80. Women's Relay Qualifies for NCAA Championships

AUBURN, Ala. – Members of the Florida State women’s swimming and diving team will be headed to the NCAA Championships in March after swimming and automatic qualifying time in the 200 medley relay at the Auburn Invite on Friday. The team of Tania Quaglieri, Nina Kucheran, Jenny Halden and Rebecca Moynihan touched first behind a season best of 1:36.37, just under the NCAA ‘A’ cut (1:36.40). “We’re really excited about what we saw today,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “Of course our women’s 200 medley relay was amazing. It was awesome to get that NCAA cut done. We also had some other great performances.” The No.19/RV Seminoles competed in two finals only sessions on Friday and will race again on Saturday at 11 a.m., at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center. Noles Head to Auburn First Chance

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Members of the No. 19/RV Florida State swimming programs will compete at the Auburn Invite on February 4-5 for the final meet before the ACC Championships. “We’re looking forward to some fast swims,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “We have a strong group going and we’re excited to see what they can achieve.” In addition to the host team Auburn and FSU, the two-day meet will feature student-athletes representing Emory, LSU, No. 4/16 Florida, and No. 17/8 Alabama. Friday’s first session will begin at 11 a.m., and will feature the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 400 medley relay. The evening session will start at 6:30 p.m., with the 200 medley relay, followed by the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, and 800 free relay. Saturday’s meet will start at 11 a.m., with the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 400 free relay and 1650 free.
