Large-scale restoration in northern Arizona has moved at a slow pace for nearly a decade. Now, the company tasked with thinning hundreds of thousands of acres as part of the Four Forest Restoration Initiative has been issued a $200 million bond to ramp up work.
The new initiative is intended to jump-start a struggling forest-thinning project in Arizona, where overgrown forests have led to huge wildfires.
A company based out of Mesa is hoping to help prevent catastrophic wildfires, while at the same time help construction companies stay fully stocked during a lumber shortage.
