oil supplies look to tighten from next month, after saudi arabia and other opec plus oil producers announce output cuts of about 1.1 million barrels a day. saudi arabia said the move was aimed at stabilising the market. well, oil prices are currently trading higher, after the move by 0pec+. this is the second time the cartel slashed productions. the group last did so in october, cutting output by two million barrels per day. jonathan robinson is global power & energy research director at frost and sullivan. this move by saudi was something of a surprise. the us publicly ruled out new crude purchases to replenish its own strategic stockpile. how much of a collision course does it put ridadh on with america? it is interesting because russia had cut its production separately in march so it suggests a bit of co ordination between russia and saudi arabia and clearly they want to put a floor under the price of oil and see it recovering to the side of $90 a barrel, where it ha ....

there was a time, before the war in ukraine, when europe thought about its place in the world, and how it could become less dependent on the united states. as washington turned inwards, and administrations refocused us foreign policy towards asia, france and germany talked about the need for strategic autonomy . but today in warsaw, at a meeting of the bucharest 9, it was the american president sat at the head of the table. all nine members of this group were part of the former soviet union or the defunct warsaw pact. the commitment of the united states to nato, i ve said it too many times, i ll say it again, is absolutely clear. article five is a sacred commitment the united states has made. we will defend literally every inch of nato, every inch of nato. and this is an important moment. i look forward to the discussion, the next steps we can take together and to keep our alliance strong and to further deter aggression. because what literally is at stake is notjust uk ....

courage, imagination and perseverance. those qualities brought an imperfect but enduring peace to a place taught to believe no such peace was possible. to all those who lead us to that piece, including those in this hole and there was no longer with us, let us take this moment to say to all of you thank you. including those in this hall. for those of us like me who inherited this extraordinary even intimidating legacy, our challenge today is to fulfil the promise of the work you ve began. to honour your legacy we need to create a more stable devolved government in northern ireland and that means getting the institutions up and running. applause i believe there are two tasks, first to remove the biggest block to the institution returning, and that is why when i came into the office i made it a priority to fix the northern ireland protocol, and we were deeply conscious of the lessons of history as we did so, that is why our aims were of history as we did so, that is wh ....
