Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish - JeepForum.com

Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish
Closing my account, but I wanted to first say thanks to everyone here for all the help over the years (decades).
Last month I sold my JK, worst Jeep I've ever had, and that's going back to the 70's. After almost 4 years of fixing one problem after another I decided to ditch it after the heater gave out for a third time, fighting with the dealership each time. For the first time in my driving career I went with a non-Jeep, I just don't think the quality is there anymore, and Jeep doesn't seem interested in alternative vehicles (driving from Pa to Az 3-4x a year is a killer).

1998 Grand Cherokee, 5.2L 2WD, $700 - JeepForum.com

1998 Grand Cherokee, 5.2L 2WD, $700
1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (ZJ) 5.2L, mileage unknown, not running due to what appears to be a fuel pump issue someone started and didn't finish. Missing front plastic fascia/grill/headlights and gas tank is out and inside car. Complete otherwise, but high mileage and interior is pretty beat up. Nice full size spare. Can discuss delivery in Central Texas as it's already on the trailer. Have title. No key, and someone who may or may not have been me took a stab at drilling out the ignition lock but quit.

04 WJ 4.0 mid rpm misfires clears on restart

04 WJ 4.0 mid rpm misfires clears on restart
02 Jeep WJ with 4.0
The engine will multiple cylinder misfire if rev over 2.5 rpm. A very rough misfire will continue until engine is restarted at which time it clears right up.
I connected Torque Pro app with a bluetooth adapter and shows o2 sensor data are seemingly good. I dont often rev the engine but have never had this issue prior to changing both upstream o2 with NTK a week ago. Again the data seems to look okay from those.
Fuel pressure shows a solid 50 psi at fuel rail. There is a slight leak down with engine off but confirmed it is not a leaking injector, likely failing 1-way and doubtful it's part of the problem.

Prepping for my GM 3.8 Swap - JeepForum.com

Prepping for my GM 3.8 Swap
So I'm collecting parts for my 1990 2.5 to 3.8 (GM/Buick 3800 Series 2) swap. FYI the 3800 is a 90-degree V6 that uses the 60-degree bellhousing bolt pattern that is the same as the AX5. Mine came from a 1998 Camaro so it was a RWD. The engine is uber common, known to be reliable, and weighs very close to the stock 2.5 4 cylinder but with a bit more power. The L36's 200hp is kinda peaky while the torque curve (225ftlbs) is pretty flat across the RPMs.
I'm neither a rock crawler nor a mall crawler. I use my jeep as a daily driver as well as to work on a tree farm with steep dirt "roads". If the 2.5 had 15-20 more HP I would just keep it. I would like to be able to maintain reasonable freeway speeds on inclines while running up to a 31" tire. I don't want a V8 and was leaning towards a 4.3 until I really took a look at the 3800. Light and efficient are the goals...

Installing DC-DC charger for trailer charging

Installing DC-DC charger for trailer charging
We are full time RVers with our Grand Cherokee and 23’ travel trailer. We have 2 190Ah lithium batteries installed in trailer that I would like to charge while driving. It appears that a dc-dc charger is my best option. Does anyone have detailed instructions for installing such a thing? I assume I will need to upgrade the wiring to the 7 pin trailer connector.
Thanks

Rear Main Seal? - JeepForum.com

Rear Main Seal?
So this has been an issue for a while but honestly seems to come and go in intensity. Small oil stains and drips on pavement when I park, from rear of engine. Also, when driving on highway, when I go to an exit and start slowing down I get a light plume of grey smoke out the back, presumably from same oil drip hitting the exhaust.
Fairly small, don't need to refill oil very often and have gone between oil changes without having to add any.
So, does this sound like the RMS? Also, is there any long term danger to not getting it fixed? Just so much money for something so simple that doesn't seem to be affecting anything other than the stain on the street and the occasional annoyed driver behind me driving through a light cloud of oil smoke.

Brake booster interference with Clifford dual Weber setup

Brake booster interference with Clifford dual Weber setup

Brake booster interference with Clifford dual Weber setup
I have a 1983 CJ7 with a 4.2 six cylinder engine that I have done some modifications to and I am seeking some help with the finishing touches to complete the job. The modifications include: Clifford dual Weber intake and carb setup, Clifford 6 into 2 header, Iskendarian 270 camshaft, .060" milled off the cylinder head. The rest of the engine is freshly rebuilt but stock. I put the body back on the frame last week and I found that the brake booster will not clear the rear carburetor. The booster has a bracket that spaces it out from the fire wall about 3". I have read through some previous threads that the bracket is used to help the booster clear the hood when it is closed and it also has a linkage to multiply the effort from the brake pedal. What is the solution to this problem? Is there another brake booster that I can use and eliminate the spacer bracket? Thank you in advance for your help, Gil
