President Joe Biden will announce on Wednesday $2.1 billion in funding to strengthen the food supply chain and he also will meet with manufacturers to address the shortage of baby formula.
The pressure is on President Joe Biden as the baby formula shortage is getting worse around the United States, particularly in the South and among the poor.
Multiple baby formula manufacturers told President Joe Biden they knew the shutting down of the Abbott plant in February would lead to shortages and that they warned the FDA about it.
The shortage of baby formula has now reached 70% nationwide, according to Datasembly. It’s worse in some western states at 80 - 89%.
