The party says their position is one of principle and not a political statement. According to Leader of the Opposition Patrick Faber, Doctor Manzanero is a consummate professional who is being unfairly targeted and victimized. The U.D.P. also slammed the government for what they say is a failure to observe the good governance motions they have championed, disregarding for the Public Service Regulations where Doctor Manzanero’s issue is concerned.
