CLEMSON, S.C. - The No. 6 Florida State (31-7, 10-1) softball team put together one of its most impressive days of the season as they defeated No. 4 Clemson (37-3, 12-2) in back-t0-back games in front of a sold out McWhorter Stadium in Clemson, S.C. The Seminoles took the first game of the doubleheader 7-0 and came back to take game two by a score of 4-1. TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Sophomore Jackson Baumeister struck out a career-high 14 batters Thursday as Florida State snapped its losing streak with a 5-1 win over Clemson at Dick Howser Stadium. At the plate, the Seminoles got three RBI from Jaime Ferrer – who extended his hitting streak to 20 games – and a solo home run from James Tibbs III. Tallahassee, Fla. – Anna Long and Jordan Polo were awarded their first CCSA Pair of the Week honor this season for their effort in the East vs. West Invitational last weekend, going 3-1 over the course of the tournament. Long and Polo clinched the match point in the Nole’s upset bid over No. 2 UCLA. The duo topped their Bruins counterparts, 21-18, 16-21, 15-12, leading the Seminoles to a 3-2 victory.
