The Sycamores (3-6) jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings in the opener before the Bison (1-6) started chipping away. Cara Beatty hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning, Cameryn Maykut and Madyson Camacho hit back-to-back RBI singles in the fourth, and Sam Koehn doubled in two runs in the fifth to make it a 7-5 game. Indiana State pushed across a run in the sixth on a double steal and strung together three two-out hits in the seventh inning for the final margin.

(NDSU Athletics) – The North Dakota State softball team dropped a pair of games on Friday at the Razorback Invitational, losing 6-1 to Texas Tech and 6-2 to Southeast Missouri State. In the opening game of the day, Texas Tech scored three in the fifth inning and three in the seventh inning to pull away after the game was scoreless through four. NDSU’s lone run came on sophomore Skyler Padgett’s first career home run. Senior Kara O’Byrne pitched seven innings for the Bison, giving up three earned runs on eight hits.

Arkansas, ranked No. 21 in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 and No. 24 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, hit three home runs on the day and totaled 19 hits while improving to 7-2 on the season.
