Painting of Princess Ka’iulani
Princess Ka’iulani was the last heir apparent to the throne of the Hawaiian Kingdom. When she was 13, her mother died, and she was sent to Europe to finish her education. In 1893, Ka’iulani was 17 when the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom occurred. There were pleas from Ka’iulani s father and Sanford B. Dole, the provisional president of Hawaii, to end the takeover of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Queen Lili’uokalani was convinced her best chance at justice for Hawaii was to temporarily relinquish ruling authority to the United States. Ruling power was never returned to Hawaii s constitutional monarchy. ....

Average Lifespan: Unknown

Coloration and Appearance
The Egyptian cobra is a large species of snake known for its large and depressed head, cervical ribs, and broad snout. Egyptian cobras possess relatively large and rounded pupils, along with a long body that is cylindrical in shape. Tails on this species are also quite long and are proportionate to the animal’s overall body length.
The coloration of the Egyptian cobra can vary significantly between each specimen. Nevertheless, most members of this species are either brown or black in appearance, with light or dark mottling and “teardrops” beneath the eyes. Some Egyptian cobras even take on a “copper” appearance or greyish-brown coloration depending on their habitat and locale. This helps to conceal the snake from natural predators in the wild. Underbellies, in contrast, are almost always a cream-white, yellowish-brown, or bluish-grey. ....

Morocco: Mosaic of Nationalities, Climate, and Cuisine
There is an exotic land a confusion of geography, climate, and nationality. Although geographically situated on the African continent, its ties to Islam link it indirectly to the Middle East. But then Europe enters into the scene. At the Strait of Gibraltar, Spain is a mere nine miles away. Kissed by the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, this is a land of beaches but also a gateway to the Sahara Desert.
This land is Morocco, a beautiful paradise that everyone wanted to claim as their own. There were invaders century upon century of invaders. From present-day Lebanon came the Phoenicians, followed by the Carthaginians of Tunis. Of course, the Romans entered the scene (146 B.C.) and held fast for more than 200 years. Berbers swept in next, removing the last of Roman authority in 429 A.D. Fast-forward little more than 300 years later and the Arabs descended as ....

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah City Council discussed a proposal by the Salvation Army to build a new homeless shelter, in West Savannah.
But it’s being met with fierce resistance from some residents there. This could be just one vote away from being approved.
Residents showed up at city hall Thursday and they were not happy.
County records show the Savannah Housing Authority still owns the land. But we have a letter from HUD that states it approved the sale way back in November of 2017. And, the project was also approved last month by the city’s planning commission. ....
