The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) have released four reports probing health and safety measures in the hospitals and rehab centres.
The report on
Tallaght Hospital, which was released today, was critical of actions taken in the hospital to separate patients who had the virus from those who did not.
Some 19 outbreaks of the virus took place at

Hotel quarantine causing 'high degree of anxiety' in foreign Irish residents

‘Isolated’
Italy’s placement on the red list has left Marta Correale feeling “isolated” from her elderly parents in Rome. An only child, Correale said she feels anxious that she cannot catch a flight home in the event of an emergency.
“My elderly parents live on their own . . . If my parents are sick can I go to them? Are my kids allowed to come with me?” she asked, adding that flights to Italy have dwindled during the pandemic.
Correale is frustrated that foreign residents have been getting “no attention” when discussions of border controls have taken place. All the focus, she said, has been on Irish people going on holidays.

DUBLIN — A rare row brewed on Friday between the usually pro-EU Irish Government and the European Commission, over Dublin forcing arrivals from five European Union member states to quarantine in hotels.
Responding to criticism from the commission, Ireland’s Justice Minister Helen McEntee told broadcaster RTÉ the measures are “proportionate and reasonable.”
Last month Ireland imposed mandatory hotel quarantine for arrivals, including returning Irish, from countries regarded as hard-hit by the pandemic.

EU Commission contacts Ireland on 'concerns' over hotel quarantine

Mr Donnelly told RTÉ’s Prime Time programme, he was confident the mandatory hotel quarantine was successfully bringing down Covid-19 numbers while “picking up variant cases in the hotel” and described the system as “very robust”.
“I make no apologies to the commissioner, to the Italian ambassador or to anybody else for putting in place the measures that we believe, and our public health experts believe, are the right measures to keep people in this country safe,” he said.
“I’m confident it’s in compliance with Irish law, with EU law, we notified the commission, and indeed EU health ministers agreed that these kind of measures could be taken.”
