Sir — Blue Monday is tomorrow, January 15. It’s reputed to be the most depressing day of the year due to inclement weather, dark evenings, overdrawn bank accounts, maxed out credit cards, broken new year resolutions and the Christmas spirit fading fast.
Sinn Féin president Mary Lou McDonald and businessman Paschal Taggart have very little in common on the face of it. Perhaps even at any level. But both came out recently with statements for solving the housing problem that were at best naïve and at worst, plain daft.
