The Broward County Sheriff's Office said the case remains active and open into the disappearance of Patty and Peggy McDaniel. The twins vanished nearly 44 years ago.

The vehicle could be connected to twin sisters Peggy and Patty McDaniel who have been missing since 1979.

A pair searching for a woman who vanished from Pinellas County in 1995, discovered a submerged vehicle in Lake Tarpon Canal that may be linked to another missing persons case.  

A submerged vehicle from the 70s was found in the Lake Tarpon Canal Friday night, according to a volunteer search-and-recovery group.
