Newtown grants approval for long-awaited Steeple View redevelopment project
The 12-foot skeleton that looms over the corner of East Valley and Penn Streets in Willits is not only there to thrill and amuse passersby, but is also part of a national campaign, Skeletons for St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital raising funds for children with cancer. Homeowners’ Krystle and Justin Coffman went all out this year with a frightfully delightful Addams Family themed display.
Pamela Romanchuk and her daughters, Ashley, Chelsea and Sabana are notorious for their 30-plus animatronic and static displays of horror and macabre. Their next-door neighbors, Christine and Ray Stachurski have an additional 10 “super-sized” animated characters as well as 10 to 15 smaller displays. The colored lights, smoke and sounds all add to the eerie frights.
Perhaps there were few fathers and sons that were as different as William and Thomas Penn.
The parade, featuring floats, traditional costumes and dancers, kicks off Sunday at 11th and Penn Streets at 11 a.m.
