Green light for 2,500-home south London scheme

The final stage in a £1.4bn major regeneration project in Clapham, south London, has been granted planning permission. The York Gardens project, a joint venture between Taylor Wimpey and Wandsworth Council, will include 2,550 new homes as well as a new leisure centre, a community centre, a library, and a children’s centre and nursery. HTA Design’s plans will also see offices, a health centre and a new 2.5-hectare public park built. John Tilsiter   SIR – In a free society, we have the option to buy the cheapest, which is often made in China. Many of the less well-off may not have a choice.
