A Lagos High Court order that the Chairman of Confidence Cargo, Freight Forwarder, Mr. Dada Aigbe be committed to prison for contempt, has not been implemented 23 days later.  Last Friday, SaharaReporters reported that Justice M.A. Savage of the Lagos State High Court, Lands Division, had ordered the remand of Mr. Aigbe in Kirikiri Prison. SaharaReporters learnt that he was remanded for disobeying a court order and interfering in a land case, to which he was not a party.

A Lagos State High Court, sitting in Ikeja, on Wednesday restrained the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) and the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LSBCA) from further demolition of residential houses in 6th Avenue, Festac Town, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State. The trial judge, Justice Omolade Awope, had granted the order, following the suit by Samuel Ahmed, Martinson Realtors Investment Limited, Taoheed Amusa and R. Balogun, seeking a pre-emptive order of injunction against FHA and LSBCA.

SaharaReporters gathered that the hoodlums were arrested after invading Odogbawojo village with firearms to perform their land grabbing “duties.” The nine suspects were said to have been arrested by officers from the Noforija police station and later transferred to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Crack team.
