flurries flying, maybe a little bit of wet sloppy snow mixing in with that. along the jersey shore you haven t gotten hit yet. but the jersey shore, just starting to see that snowfall there. we were expecting to see slightly higher totals there because you ll see the snow for the longest. we go up toward reading, you re almost in the clear, allentown, you still have snow. pocono, where you would expect to see it it s only going to be spotty snow headed through that area. let s put this into motion hour by hour. we re starting now, this is our featurecast model. you can see it beginning to clear. 6:00, philadelphia, you should start to clear. that s when we ll see south jersey and parts of delaware and the jersey shore being hit so hard. we go on through and by about 8:00 tonight, everybody should be clear of the snow. i have to tell you, we re well below freezing, the roadways are going to be impacted. there s a lot of ice out there that s left over from the past couple ....

the way up into the poconos. that doesn t mean you should rush outside. we ve had reports from anywhere to one to three inches of snow across the area. one isolated amount as high as 3 1/2 inches so far. we ve got a lot of snow on the roadways. the steps, also your sidewalk in front of your house. anywhere you re planning to go tonight will be impacted by the snow. let s take a look. this is making its way out of the area. we see the clearing that s taking place off to the west. doyles town, limerick, abington. wilmington already in the clear. let s slide further to the south. middletown, you re about to clear. dover, not yet. morris river steady snowshowers. same for vineland. cape may, atlantic city. steady snow continuing there. we get down into southern parts of delaware, you re going to get one last push of snowshowers and then this is going to clear through longneck, milford. milford right now, a very steady line of snow making its way through the area. behind it, ....

is coming down. but we are watching, of course, the biggest story of all which is the timing of it during the evening commute and everybody is below freezing. those roadways, anything it falls on, the steps, stairs, the sidewalk, it s going to be slick. philadelphia, we re seeing a light steady snow. pemberton, down toward hammondton, we re seeing steadier snow bands move through your area. that s headed to egg harbor where we re looking at ted greenburg who has been updating us. all the way down to cape may, it s transitioned into snow for you. if we head all the way up to wilmington we re getting a little burst of snow there. it s still a little bit heavier. in southern portions of delaware, we are still looking at snow that s a little bit heavier. you can see these patches from smyrna and across to southern jersey. basically, the snow is not going to be ending from the next couple of hours unless you re out there in the lehigh valley and berks county. by 7:00 philade ....

we re bringing you live team coverage tonight from philadelphia to berks county and atlantic city. we ll begin here in studio where it s a little warmer. glenn, first snow and then more brutal cold? as low as those feels like temperatures went in the core of this cold blast, it s going to be worse by new year s day. up here in camelbin back and poconos, it s going to be feel like it s 20 below zero on new year s morning. the first alert covers the entire area as we ve been saying. it s a double whammy here. the snow part starts early saturday morning and the worst of the bitter cold ends about 8:00 a.m. on tuesday. subzero wind chills through much of the area with this cold air mass. the amount of snow, not as big a deal as the slipperiness. it s moving fairly quickly, it s a sure bet it s coming in. it s a sure bet it s not a major storm, but it may only take an inch to cause some roads to be slippery. there it is, 7:00 a.m. it s just getting started. and once it doe ....
