Shutdown. But just as that crisis is averted the president taking new fire over his Border Policies. And a new call from liberal talk show host bill maher for mr. Biden to abandon his reelection bid. Good evening i am jon scott and this is the fox report. It has been a busy and contentious week in our nations capitol. Lucas tomlinson at the white house takes a look at all of it. Jon, anyone is hoping President Biden was going to congratulate members of both parties for avoiding the government shutdown, you might be disappointed. Quite frankly i am sick and tired, i am sick and tired of the brinksmanship. And so are the American People. I noticed you all point out to me a lot, a long time. I have never quite seen the Republican Congress or any congress act like this. The shortterm Spending Bill which only keeps the government running to mid november did not cane contain any funding for your grade nor did it contain additional cash to help secure the southern border. All the way down to cape may, its transitioned into snow for you. If we head all the way up to wilmington were getting a little burst of snow there. Its still a little bit heavier. In southern portions of delaware, we are still looking at snow thats a little bit heavier. You can see these patches from smyrna and across to southern jersey. Basically, the snow is not going to be ending from the next couple of hours unless youre out there in the Lehigh Valley and berks county. By 7 00 philadelphia is in the clear, als
Delaware. Locally heavy rainfall could cause localized flooding. We will track all this for you. Aside from that we are talking about excessive heat. Chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz is standing by with a look at that. That excessive heat warning has been canceled as the line of thunderstorms has brought the rain to knock down the temperatures and knock some of the humidity out of the air, too. It was really warm and humid early in the day and then just became hotter and more humid and we hit 87 degrees at noontime 88 degrees at 1 00 and there we go. 90 degrees at 2 00 just before the storms hit because it was already down to 74 in reading and 79 in allentown when they got the storms earlier. By 5 00 its now down to 77 in philadelphia but its back up to 82 in reading and allentown. The sun coming back out, warming things up again. In the distance you will see theres a road closure. In the back of the hill theres a few big hot spots. No one expects them to be the last. Tonight this hill was crackling on the side of highway 20. Thats where firefighters will spend the night trying to keep it there. Most highways are natural fire breaks but not for the rocky fire. And theres hundreds of hillsides like this. Packed tight with fuel and ready to burn. This is Fire Fighters 13th day at the line. First they were at the wragg fire, then the lowell fire now this one. Theyre all burning with intensity like we havent seen. Its been a long time since the humidity has been low. Its real dangerous. Very dangerous. We dont put people out in front of the fire but we wont put anyone in harms way. Were fighting aggressively with boots on the ground. Rep
