State Fair Classic Football Game Between Grambling, Prairie View A&M Postponed Again, Moved

The annual classic will now be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 13 at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
“Unfortunately, due to the impacts of the recent inclement weather and the time required to assess what is needed to get Cotton Bowl Stadium ready, we collectively agreed with the State Fair of Texas and the promoter that the prudent decision is to move the event,” says Peter Sullivan, general manager of Fair Park. “We look forward to hosting this great event again in the future.”
All previously purchased tickets will be honored. Tickets are also still available for purchase for the 2021 State Fair Classic Spring Game.

Prairie View A&M students say Kamala Harris is giving new hope to HBCUs across America

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (KTRK) -- Kamala Harris' swearing-in ceremony was celebrated in many different ways in the Houston area.
HBCUs across the country along with Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority members held virtual events and shared their excitement with the world as one of their own now holds one of the highest positions in America.
"There are not enough words to describe the way that I feel today," said LaShonda Williams, a fellow AKA member.
Students at Prairie View A&M University along with staff describe the event as "being on cloud nine."

Two professors from Prairie View A&M University weighed in on the day’s events.
“This is not what is supposed to happen in the United States,” said Michael Marshall, an assistant professor of political science. “Peaceful, orderly transition of power is a key, important part of our democracy.”
He said the effects could be felt abroad if rivals see the moment as a sign of weakness and decide to act.
“I’m more worried about, as a social scientist who studies democracy around the world, the cascading effect of this type of situation on our ability as a superpower to promote democracy elsewhere,” he said.
