A non-Governmental organization, Living Home Ventures, has launched an online family forum called Familylifers.com, aimed at empowering young people and families.
Speaking at the launch, the founders, Bisi and Yomi Adewale explained that Family lifers was a multifaceted platform that provided an opportunity for empowerment, employment, acquisition of skills, advertisement of businesses for SMEs/entrepreneurs, among others.
They said it was created to help the Nigerian youth engage in meaningful ventures and ultimately help in nation building.
According to Yomi Adewale, the COVID-19 pandemic brought about increased challenges faced by families, especially the youths with unemployment.

A former early career fellow in the Department of Politics at University of Oxford, Ike Okonta, has described effective political leadership and liberal democracy as essential factors that would promote true federalism in Nigeria.
Okonta, who stated this in his book, ‘Nigeria and the Challenges of Federalism,’ said the reluctance of Nigeria’s political leaders, from the colonial era to the present time, to put forward a constitution that would be reflective  of the diversities that exist among Nigerians contributed to the country’s current problems.
“The second vital ingredient necessary for federalism to thrive and prosper is effective political leadership. Federalism is by design a system that depends on consensus, given and taken and the ability to take the long view for it to work.

…says illicit cash flow over $70bn
The President, African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, has described as unsustainable the debts owed by African countries, including Nigeria, saying it has become worrying.
He noted that it had become expedient to address the continent’s debt and development finance challenges, so as to avoid another “lost decade” and build resilient economies.
He added that the time is now for one last debt relief for Africa but that such relief would require that African countries credibly commit to their share of the deal through bold governance reforms to eliminate all forms of leakages in public resources, improvement in domestic resource mobilisation and enhanced transparency.

The Peoples Democratic Party has described the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), as “a parlour of corruption for fraudsters.”
The assertion by the opposition party followed the reported revelation by the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, that $1bn arms funds went missing under the watch of the immediate-past service chiefs.
This was as Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, and Transparency International called for the probe of Monguno’s allegation by anti-graft agencies.
Monguno had, in an interview with the Hausa Service of the
British Broadcasting Corporation early Friday, alleged that neither the funds nor the weapons the ex-service chiefs were meant to buy could be traced.
