NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reinstated the medical license of a doctor accused of intentionally exposing his patients and staff to COVID-19.

Farina’s medical privileges were restored on February 23 after the Department of Health determined that Farina was no longer a danger to the public.
Farina has denied all accusations.
Dr. Farina’s practices are identified as the Center of New England Primary Care Inc., Center of New England Urgent Care Inc., Physicians Weight Loss & Medical Services Inc., North Providence Primary Care Associates Inc., North Providence Urgent Care Inc. and East Greenwich Urgent Care, Inc. ....

North Providence doctor, suspended over COVID, has license restored

PROVIDENCE  The state Department of Health has reinstated the medical license of a North Providence doctor who investigators concluded had deliberately exposed his patients and staff to COVID-19.
Health Director Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott ordered the emergency suspension of Dr. Anthony G. Farina Jr.’s license in January after determining that he presented a danger to the community for his overall pattern of “unprecedented” willful misconduct.
His medical privileges were restored Feb. 23 without explanation, according to Department of Health records.
“Dr. Farina’s license was suspended because of concerns that his continuation in practice would constitute an immediate danger to the public. It was later determined that Dr. Farina’s continuation in practice no longer constituted an immediate danger to the public, so his license was restored,” Joseph Wendelken, spokesman for the department said in an email.  ....

Dr. Anthony Farina accused of intentionally violating labor laws

Also named as defendants are four of Farina’s practices: North Providence Primary Care Associates Inc., North Providence Urgent Care Inc., Center of New England Primary Care Inc. in Coventry, and Center of New England Urgent Care Inc. in West Greenwich. ....
