supplied/Stuff Paul Williams, 37, died in Germany in October. He’d been wanting to come home to his mum in New Zealand to say goodbye. “A couple of months after she returned Paul became very sick and was taken to hospice. He was feeling so bad at that time that he realised he was going to die and wanted his mum to be there again.” Taylor said his mum returned to Germany and Williams died a month later. Friends of Williams in Germany arranged a small ceremony to say goodbye and had his body cremated – the ashes were then sent back to New Zealand, so Williams could be buried at Purewa Cemetery, a short walk from his mum’s home.
