You see those outer bands there. you see those really dark colors. that s really heavy rainfall. this is dangerous because on the northeast quadrant, that would be on the right part of your screen where you see like the panhandle of florida, pensacola, you are you re seeing severe weather warnings. when you have a hurricane moving towards land, that friction is going to cause those winds to turn. that s where we re getting the potential for severe weather. also starting to he sue the winds pickup, that storm surge. we ll track that for you. look at the winds, up to 49 mile per hours in some spots. when it gets closer the next two hours, it s going to be tornado like. you want to take shelter as if you re in a tornado. the pensacola, panhandle is in a tornado warning. in other places we re going to have winds 150 miles per hour, greater in some spots. that s why you want be to take shelter. of course you want to pay attention to flooding waters. you don t want to be in that. you want to ....

Quadrant, that is where you get the strongest winds, highest surge and biggest tornado potential. this is what the radar will look like later this afternoon going into this evening as it comes ashore. notice the thunderstorms piling up across southeastern louisiana, moving up into mississippi and alabama. on this side as it approaches, the winds will cause the water to pile up and we could see catastrophic storm surge up to 15 feet near the mouth of the mississippi. in terms of the rainfall, when it makes landfall, it will slow down and really rain itself out. where that center goes, we ll see rainfall get up to about a foot in some areas up to 20 and a wide swathe of 4 to 6 inches on into the lower mississippi valley and the tennessee valley and in addition, kim, yeah, we ll see tornadoes there on the east side of the system. i guess the only hope now is that it passes through quickly. tyler mauldin, thank you so much. we ll check back in with you ....
