Michael Ochs Archives/Getty ImagesRick Springfield has penned a heartfelt tribute to “All By Myself” hitmaker Eric Carmen, whose wife, Amy, announced on March 11 that he passed away at the age of 74.“This is almost more than I can stand. I have always been a huge Eric fan,” Springfield wrote on social media. “Amazing singer. Amazing writer. Good human. Why do we have to wait until we pass before we acknowledge what they mean to us.”The “Jessie’s Girl” singer noted how he opened for Carmen’s band the Raspberries in 1974 when they were playing high school gyms, sharing that they “followed each others careers ever since.”“Just a brilliant musician that lesser artists have surpassed in fame but not talent,” Springfield concluded. “May God speed your spirit home sweet Eric.”Other artists paying tribute to Carmen include:E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt, who wrote, “Damn. Another friend gone. RIP Eric Carmen. The Raspberries set a production standard we’re still trying to reach.”KISS' Paul Stanley, who shared, “Awful News … Although known to many for writing radio hits like 'All By Myself' and others, Eric was a true rocker at heart. His voice had elements of McCartney and Steve Marriott. The Raspberries did shows with us. A killer band live & I loved their records.”Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. All rights reserved.

Mike GreenhamArtists like The Who, Santana and Jimi Hendrix have fans all over the world, but their music is no longer limited to folks here on Earth.Billboard reports that digitized recordings from a slew of musicians was included in a time capsule on the Odysseus space craft, which touched down on the moon on Thursday, February 22.In total, the time capsule features music from 222 artists, including Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, and Chuck Berry. Some previously unreleased material was also included, as well as photos from Woodstock and album art, including Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon.Dallas Santana, of the company Space Blue, brought the idea of the music collection to Arch Mission Foundation and curated the music that appeared on it. He notes, “This is music that stands the test of time.”Santana adds that much of the collection is made up of music from 1969 and artists who were at Woodstock, since the festival took place just weeks after the U.S. landed on the moon for the first time. He hopes the capsule can capture some of the feelings of peace and togetherness that were on display at Woodstock.“We need peace on the earth right now,” he says. “We’ve brought to the moon the Summer of Love, the people and artists and messages that are needed on earth right now.”Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. Shannen Doherty got candid about how her battle with stage IV breast cancer has affected her libido on Monday's (February 26th) episode of her Let's Be Clear podcast. "I mean, when you're feeling not great about yourself that's going to kill your libido — but then…when meds take your libido away, or it makes things not as pleasant, like sex doesn't feel as good," the Charmed actor told her good friend, Anne Marie Kortright. Kortright then recounted the time she took the Beverly Hills, 90210 actor to an OB/GYN who specialized in women's sexual health. "She took me because, you know, I specifically said her, ‘I need to do something. Things aren't working and this isn't the life that I want to live," Doherty said. When the OB/GYN gave Doherty a sex toy and instructed her on how to use it, Kortright said she had "never seen her this embarrassed." The Heathers actor added, "I was beet red … I'm turning red just, like, literally talking about it right now."

Jodie Turner-Smith opened up about her divorce from Joshua Jackson for the first time during an interview with the UK's Sunday Times over the weekend. The Queen & Slim actor filed for divorce from the Dawson's Creek star in October of last year. "I don't think it's a failure," Turner-Smith said, referring to their marriage of four years. The pair also welcomed their three-year-old daughter, Juno Rose Diana Jackson, in April of 2020. "We obviously had such a beautiful moment together. And now it's time for a new moment for both of us. And how exciting!" she said. "The bravest thing in the world is to recognize when something's not working and to make a move, and I always want to set that kind of example for my daughter." The Murder Mystery 2 actor added, "I believe that there are visible scars from staying in places that are not good for us. And they don't just affect us, they affect everybody around us."
