The city will soon build a levee that will start here at the African Museum and stretch all the way to tenth avenue where the alliant sub station is located. The city broke ground on the 14million dollar project on tuesday. The levee will be thirteen to seventeen feet high. The city wants to build it high enough to protect from flood levels seen in 2008.
