Art 120 In Signal Mountain Among Those Awarded Grants From Building Bridges Program

Art 120 in Signal Mountain has received a grant of $89,700 from the Building Bridges 2020 Grants Program to support “Jingle Truck in Cyberspace and Beyond,” the expansion of a mobile art project to share the culture and art of the Pakistani Jingle Truck.
The Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art today announced 22 recipients of more than $4 million through the Building Bridges 2020 Grants Program. This national grant competition, which first launched in 2013, supports arts- and media-based projects working with U.S. Muslims to advance relationships and understanding among diverse communities. Salome Mwangi
The Idaho Nonprofit Center has announced three members to its board of directors. Salome Mwangi has called Boise home since relocating here 16 years ago via the refugee resettlement program from Nairobi, Kenya. She has a professional background in banking, finance and IT, which she gained while working in Kenya. Since moving to the US, she uses her multilingual skills to foster communication between former refugees and their service providers as they navigated systems in making the Treasure Valley home. Along the way, she has become a cultural broker, realizing that the culture behind each language bears weight in living life with cross-cultural relevance. She currently manages the Refugee Speakers Bureau at the Idaho Office for Refugees. ....

Cristi Schooley
The Idaho Nonprofit Center welcomes Cristi Schooley as the communication & program coordinator. She joins the organization from Idaho Public Television where she worked in various roles for more than six years. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Mass Communication Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Marketing from Boise State University.
Garrett Kalt
Garrett Kalt has been promoted to training and programs manager at the Idaho Nonprofit Center. He joined the Center’s team in July and has created programs. He joined the Center’s Equity Task Force. ....
