Coronavirus: One year later, restrictions continue at nursing homes

"My mom was a beautiful 93 years young," she said.
Studeny's mother, Ida Pedrotty, was admitted to The Gables of Canton senior center in June 2020. Nearly seven months later, she died from natural causes.
Although COVID-19 hadn't ended Pedrotty's life, it took away precious time with loved ones. Visitation would soon be restricted, requiring most guests to turn to virtual or window sessions amid outbreaks.
"We would visit as a family outside her window and play music through a phone and speaker — try to party with her the best we could," Studeny said. "To not touch your mom goodbye was about the hardest."

The 2021 fair schedule was recently announced by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, although it is unknown what the fairs will look like next year.
Katie Boyer, Department of Agriculture public information officer, said it is unknown as to what restrictions will be put on the 2021 fairs.
“There have been no new orders issued, but the current order still stands, as it’s indefinite,” she explained. “There’s been no mention as to when this current order expires.”
