The FBI announced the first federal arrest of a North Carolina resident related to the riots at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Late Tuesday afternoon, special agents and officers assigned to the FBI Charlotte Field Office s Greensboro Resident Agency arrested Christopher Raphael Spencer of Pilot Mountain.Click the video player to learn more about the arrest.Spencer was taken into custody without incident in Kernersville and had his initial appearance at the federal courthouse in Greensboro.Federal investigators said Spencer live-streamed three videos inside the U.S. Capitol Building and showed himself in them.In one video, the FBI states Spencer says, Bro, they stormed the Capitol, bro. pushed the cops out of the way, everything.. took it over. Cedar Rapids Man Facing Charges In Capitol Riot Is Granted Pre-Trial Release

A Cedar Rapids businessman facing federal charges for his alleged role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol by a mob of pro-Trump extremists has been granted pre-trial release. Leo Kelly made his first appearance in court Tuesday, the day after he was taken into custody by FBI agents.
At a hearing Tuesday, a judge granted Kelly pre-trial release, under conditions that he wear a GPS monitor and stick to certain travel restrictions. The judge cited Kelly’s relative lack of a criminal record in granting his release, according to KCRG-TV. In 2010, Kelly pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated. ....
