A massive class-action lawsuit has been given the go-ahead to take on Tesla and CEO Elon Musk.

A federal judge has ruled that Elon Musk's Tesla must face a lawsuit alleging that the company committed fraud by misrepresenting the self-driving capabilities of its vehicles.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for people who since 2016 bought or leased Tesla vehicles

Without ruling on the merits, Lin said that "if Tesla meant to convey that its hardware was sufficient to reach high or full automation, the [complaint] plainly alleges sufficient falsity."
