Climate change impacts like wildfires will affect readiness for the next war — from missed training exercises to drained resources.

Major-General Robert Glavaš, the Slovenian chief of the general staff, hosted Lieutenant-General Thomas Süssli, the chief of the Swiss Armed Forces, in Ljubljana on Friday. They pledged to strengthen cooperation between the countries' armed forces, in particular in education and training, and noted their joint interest in stability in the Balkans.

Today Prime Minister Janez Janša attended training demonstrations as part of the Defender Europe 2021 military exercise. Part of the exercise is also taking place in Slovenia between 1 May and 15 June under the command of the Slovenian Armed Forces Major General Miha Škerbinc.
