Though the MTA's top overtime earners made more than 70% of their pay from overtime, MTA officials say they’ve done a good job paring overtime costs overall. The agency spent $1.136 billion on overtime in 2020, down about 9.7% from 2019′s $1.258 billion overtime bill.
