The Writer and the Agent: A Conversation with Robin McLean and Stephanie Steiker A Conversation with fiction writer Robin McLean and literary agent Stephanie Steiker about the worlds of writing and publishing. McLean is the award-winning author of three books. Her debut novel, Pity the Beast, was noted as a best book of fiction of 2021 by The Guardian and The Wall Street Journal. Steiker has been a literary agent at Regal Hoffmann & Associates since 2015. Prior to that, she was Associate Director of the New York Institute for the Humanities at NYU.
