Prosecutors may appeal Proud Boys sentences for Jan. 6 Capitol riot
The Justice Department is signaling it intends to appeal the prison sentences handed down to five Proud Boys convicted in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, according to court filings Monday. As The Hill reported, “The notice of appeal does not include any legal arguments, and instead alerts the court to prosecutors’ plans.” Prosecutors had recommended 33 years each for Proud Boys national leader Enrique Tarrio of Miami and former Proud Boys organizer Joseph Biggs, of Ormond Beach, Florida.
