Born in the village of Kuujjuaq in northeastern Quebec, Simon was not given the chance to learn French in the federal day school to which she was sent.
She has promised to learn French to be able to speak to Canada’s seven million French-speaking citizens in their own language.
Predictably, the Bloc Quebecois said it’s “unthinkable” that the Governor-General of the country it wants to separate from, doesn’t speak French.

Canadian Press his investigation “will focus on the Privy Council Office in its advisory role on this appointment” apparently as opposed to focusing on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who actually made and announced the decision. ....
