Two weeks after the new Atlantic City Housing Authority executive director slammed the agency over its procurement practices over the past year, the authority board is now preparing to terminate his contract only months after Matthew Doherty began in the job.

Matt Doherty was terminated with 120 days' notice at a special meeting Thursday night, after just four months on the job trying to turn around an agency that has been unable to provide basics such as heat and hot water to many residents.
