The 25-year-old was a recommendation from goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, having worked together at Danish side FC Nordsjaelland.
Runarsson was a replacement for Emiliano Martinez, arriving to offer cover behind Bernd Leno – but it hasn’t gone well so far.

Analysis
Phil Foden starred for Manchester City as they beat a poor Arsenal side 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium to advance to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Just three minutes into the game, Manchester City were up and running as Gabriel Jesus headed home an Oleksandr Zinchenko cross from close range. The Cityzens continued to control the game from there on, but against the run of play, Arsenal found an equaliser in the 31st minute as Alexandre Lacazette headed in a fine cross from Gabriel Martinelli.

Manchester City progressed to the Carabao Cup semi-finals after thumping Arsenal 4-1 on Tuesday evening.
Runar Runarsson started in goal as Cedric Soares, Dani Ceballos and Gabriel Martinelli also came in for the Gunners, while City gave a rare start to Zack Steffen between the sticks.
Arsenal were given a nightmare start when Gabriel Jesus charged at an inch-perfect cross from Oleksandr Zinchenko to head past Runarsson
Alexandre Lacazette missed a big chance to draw the Gunners level towards the midway stage following a good move from the back.
Lacazette atoned for the miss on the half-hour mark when he got on the end of a ball from Martinelli to head in with sheer ease as the Citizens failed to clear their defensive lines.

Arsenal 4
AND SO DUNDALK’S Europa League campaign ends without a point, the sixth defeat inflicted by Arsenal in another full-blooded, free-wheeling game in which Filippo Giovagnoli’s side left nothing to wonder.
A mingling of Defensive errors  and opposition class meant Dundalk were deservedly beaten, but again they found the scoresheet again to vastly exceed their goalscoring return from Stephen Kenny’s campaign four years ago. Arsenal were 2-0 up here by the mid-point of the first-half, but a customary Jordan Flores stunner cut that deficit before half-time.
