Der Leipziger Triathlet Martin Schulz hat seinen Paralympicssieg aus Rio in Tokio wiederholt und am fünften Wettkampftag endlich die erste Goldmedaille für den Deutschen Behindertensportverband (DBS) geholt. Der 31-Jährige, der ohne linken Unterarm geboren wurde, siegte nach einer ganz starken Laufleistung in 58:10 Minuten mit 45 Sekunden Vorsprung auf den lange führenden Briten George Peasgood. Nach vier Wettkampftagen hatte Deutschland im Medaillenspiegel mit sieben Medaillen - davon zwei silberne und fünf bronzene - nur Rang 40 belegt.
