hello and welcome. the government of ukraine has accused russia of waging a war on civilians, after at least 21 people were killed including children by missile strikes near the black sea port of odesa. more than 30 others were injured in the attacks which severely damaged a block of flats and a recreation cente in the resort of sir heev ka. from kyiv, our correspondent joe inwood sent this report it has become a grimly familiar sight. they work through the night to find anyone left alive. by dawn, the scale of the tragedy was obvious. a ukrainian apartment block left a burned out shell by russian missiles. in normal times, serhiivka is a popular holiday destination just to the west of odesa, but these are not normal times. translation: we heard strikes. we live close by. together with the emergency workers, we helped those who survived. adnd those who unfortunately died, we helped carry them away. for hours the search continued, more in hope than expectation. one b ....

hello and welcome to audiences in the uk and around the world. russia has shown its determined to assert control over ukraine s black sea coast, despite moscow s decision to withdraw from the much fought over snake island. missiles have hit the port of odessa where at least 19 people have died. before they were effectively blockaded, the black sea ports were used to export russian grain. now kiev has accused moscow of stealing that grain and it says this russian flagged cargo ship has left the russian occupied port of berdyansk with a cargo of seed. our correspondentjoe inwood has the latest. today we had another attack, once again using these old soviet era missiles which hit a resort town just to the west of odesa. it was a nine storey apartment block that was hit as well as a holiday complex. a 12 year old boy is amongst the dead. now, what s interesting about the odesa attack today is it happened maybe 12 hours after the russians had been pushed off an island called ....

google has announced that it s taking steps to remove data from its servers that could be used to prosecute people for visits to abortion clinics in the united states. it comes after the us supreme court s decision to remove a woman s constitutional right to an abortion. several states have already acted to outlaw the procedure, or severely restrict access to it. our north america correspondent, peter bowes, told me more about google s decision. this is a response to the concerns of many that women who seek an abortion, legal abortion out of a different state, if that has been banned. google is doing an attempt state, if that has been banned. google is doing an attempt to delete any information relating to that person s visit to an abortion clinic or any other facility providing reproductive services. they will do that by automatically deleting the geolocation data that they hold on their servers when their systems detect that an individual has been to one of these faci ....

welcome to our viewers on pbs in america and around the globe. russia has shown that it s determined to assert control over ukraine s black sea coast. that s despite moscow s decision to withdraw from the much fought over snake island earlier this week. kyiv has accused moscow of stealing grain and sending it abroad from the occupied port of berdyansk. a russian registered ship has left berdyansk with a cargo of grain and is currently lying off the turkish coast near port of karasu. ukraine is demanding that turkey, a nato member intercepts it. mark lobel has more. ukraine once this cargo ship, filled by the bbc, to be seized. it is carrying green that ukraine says has been stolen from a russian occupied part of their country, allegations russia denies. the bbc has been tracking the ship, believed to be leased to the russian company, greenline, which is not under any sanctions, across the black sea on a journey that began on wednesday week. it is transporting around 700 ....
