MUMBAI: Actor Parineeti Chopra says boarding Saina Nehwal biopic post-Shraddha Kapoor's exit was not a point of concern for her as she was completely engrossed in the process of understanding director Amol Gupte's vision.
"Saina", written and directed by Gupte, was earlier supposed to be headlined by Kapoor who quit the project due to scheduling conflict.
At the film's trailer launch, when asked if she felt an added pressure to pick up a role that Kapoor had already started preparing for, Chopra said focused only on playing the part to the best of her ability.

The much-awaited teaser and the poster of Parineeti Chopra’s film Saina were unveiled today (March 2). Saina is a biopic based on the life of ace badminton player Saina Nehwal and the poster and teaser of the film have been released after a long, long wait. However, netizens don’t seem to be quite pleased with the poster of the film. They have pointed out a grievous mistake in the poster of Saina. People pointed out that a badminton shuttle is never tossed in that manner. The hand gesture shown in the poster is more like a tennis serve. The makers are being massively trolled on social media for not being able to decipher this “basic mistake”.

The actress played the protagonist in the film, an alcoholic suffering from amnesia who also undergoes emotional trauma and abusive relationship. But now, she might have yet another release in just a month.

We are talking about the Saina Nehwal biopic. The film, which traces the journey of the famous badminton player, would be helmed by Amole Gupte. It was earlier looking at a direct OTT release, but now it looks like the film might release directly in theatres. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the makers were contemplating a march 26th of April 9th release for the film and they have now gone ahead with the former date. A source was quoted by the portal saying, “A lot of factors were taken into consideration to reverse the decision and then decide on the release date. As things stand today, it’s set for a March 26 release in cinema halls across India. Producer, Bhushan Kumar, is now all set to unwind his line up extending to over 20 major films through the year, which begins with Mumbai Saga on March 19."
