Primary school pupils beat their rivals in penalty shootout
The home team triumphed 5-4 over their Northern rivals in a nail-biting game finally decided on penalties. However, the game in July 1985 wasn’t played at the Manor Ground at Headington or at Old Trafford in Manchester, and the players weren’t fully-grown men battling it out on the pitch. It was a mini-tournament for five and six-year-olds at Sandhills Primary School at Headington.
